Program Planning
The curriculum has been developed in accordance with the Education Bureau's "Curriculum Guide for Pre-primary Education" in six major areas. The first kindergarten in Hong Kong to introduce the two award-winning Korean curricula, and to work with Korean curriculum teachers to develop and tailor the curriculum and learning assessments to meet the learning needs of Hong Kong's young children, with the focus on the common competencies needed by the international and local communities in the 21st century, which include - "Creative Thinking, Mathematical Logic, Strategic Thinking and Problem Solving Skills", Creative Thinking, Mathematical Logic, Strategic Thinking and Problem Solving". In order to meet the needs of children's holistic development, we emphasize on biliteracy and trilingualism, with five days of English time, English drama training (using drama to enable children to use English "naturally" and "boldly" in "meaningful" situations, professional foreign English drama instructors are invited to conduct training to teach English drama/musicals, choreographing, rehearsing, production, etc.), and Putonghua lessons (taught by teachers who have obtained the Grade 1 certificate of Putonghua Proficiency Test). etc. In addition, we emphasize on arts development by implementing picture book teaching, integrated creative arts courses and evangelical music courses, etc. We also promote environmental education on an institutional basis.
Through picture book teaching, games and group exploration, children can observe, think, learn from each other and solve problems through discovery, experience sharing and group discussion. Through rich environmental decoration, corner learning, visits, lectures and diversified teaching strategies, including "Drama and English training, Gospel music, Korean Mathematics and Logic strategic teaching aids, and Korean magnet blocks for children to manipulate and learn," etc., we can stimulate children's intrinsic learning motivation and interest, and enjoy the fun of going to school.
Continuous observation is used to assess children's learning performance, and learning assessments are distributed for each theme and "Children's Learning History File" for each semester to facilitate parents' understanding of their children's overall development.
The school will comply with theKindergarten Education Curriculum GuidelinesThe (2017) Planning Curriculum will not require children in nursery classes to write in pen and pencil, nor will they be required to do mechanical transcription or drill-based numeracy exercises.
