Program Planning
A "child-centered" "integrated and spiral" curriculum is designed to meet the development and needs of young children, emphasizing sensory exploration and life-like experiences, learning through play, diversity, holistic and balanced development.
We adopt a collective, group and individual interactive approach to create an inclusive atmosphere and opportunities through a variety of activities, such as thematic studies, drama education, traditional culture and character education, free play, field trips and visits, talks and performances inside and outside the school, volunteer activities, community and home-school co-operation, and multi-media learning activities, etc., so as to allow children to explore biliteracy and trilingualism independently through play and build up their self-confidence, positive thinking and values in preparation for future learning. This will help them to build up self-confidence, positive thinking and values, and prepare them for future learning.
We conduct assessment for our children through "continuous observation, recording and analysis" and compile the relevant information into a "learning history file" for regular communication and reporting to parents to understand the development and learning progress of our children.
The school will comply with theKindergarten Education Curriculum GuidelinesThe (2017) Planning Curriculum will not require children in nursery classes to write in pen and pencil, nor will they be required to do mechanical transcription or drill-based numeracy exercises.
School Mission and Vision
In line with the school sponsor's spirit of "building community", the school is "committed to providing full-day and half-day quality education and care for children aged 2 to 6 in the district, nurturing them to develop in a balanced manner in morality, intellectuality, physicality, social skills and aesthetics, so that they can become good citizens with a sense of responsibility, creativity, respect for the elders, support for the younger generation, and love for the ecosystem".
School Features
Through close home-school liaison, teachers and school social workers provide appropriate support or referrals for students.
To build a language-rich environment for Chinese language learning; to build an inclusive campus to facilitate student integration; to collaborate with non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to build an integrated campus; and to facilitate teachers' participation in professional development programmes to develop strategies to help NCS students learn Chinese.
Participation in pre-school rehabilitation services is ongoing. There are part-time and on-site social workers who, in addition to daily training, provide initial identification for "early intervention" and support.
We maintain good communication and contact with parents through various parent-child and parent activities, diversified home-school communication channels such as parent-child trips, parent-teacher conferences, questionnaires, phone calls and face-to-face meetings.
