Program Planning
The main theme of the program is active play, and a variety of learning activities are arranged to allow children to learn in a relaxing and enjoyable environment. Free play time is arranged in the classroom to encourage children to learn independently and interact with their peers to enhance their social skills. Children are encouraged to develop good character, good living habits and self-care skills. With two English and Chinese teachers as classroom teachers, we provide a rich language environment where children are exposed to foreign languages naturally and learn to listen and express themselves easily. Children are equipped with different levels and areas of natural instincts and gain first-hand experience and knowledge through manipulative activities. Children participate in a variety of learning activities to enhance their higher level thinking skills and increase their knowledge. Story time enhances children's language skills and daily sharing time strengthens children's expressive skills.
Small group teaching enhances teacher-student interaction, exploration teaching fosters active learning, stimulates children's senses through environmental decorations, and outdoor visits allow children to gain first-hand learning experience. Picture book teaching trains children's language (listening, reading, speaking, and writing) and problem-solving skills, and also cultivates children's creativity, imagination, observation, and other abilities. Programs are developed according to the interests of the children. Teachers will utilize the children's existing abilities and encourage them to express their thoughts and feelings through verbal, physical, and artistic creation. In the afternoon class, we have an English drama program.
Continuous assessment is used to observe and record children's learning outcomes, and information booklets record children's thematic learning process, so that parents can have a clear understanding of their children's learning progress in school.
The school will comply with theKindergarten Education Curriculum GuidelinesThe (2017) Planning Curriculum will not require children in nursery classes to write in pen and pencil, nor will they be required to do mechanical transcription or drill-based numeracy exercises.
