Program Planning
Adopting a "child-centered" philosophy, we follow the "Kindergarten Curriculum Guidelines" (2017) in designing an appropriate curriculum for children according to their developmental abilities, needs and interests. The curriculum consists of character development, cognitive and language development, physical development, emotional and social development, and aesthetic development to achieve a balanced development of children's moral, intellectual, physical, social, aesthetic and spiritual development.
The school curriculum is designed according to the children's real-life learning themes, and the opportunities for interaction are increased through small group teaching. A rich learning environment is created to allow children to play freely in different scenarios and to cultivate in them the learning attitudes of active exploration, thinking, questioning and creativity. The school also encourages children to explore learning through their senses and to enhance their ability to learn through sight, sound, taste, smell and touch. Through reading and diversified bi-literacy and tri-lingual play activities, the school enhances children's interest in language learning and their listening and speaking skills. The school makes good use of external resources and takes the children on field trips in line with the learning themes to broaden their horizons. Through religious classes, the school enriches the balanced development of children's mind, body and spirit, and enriches children's spiritual life, so that they know how to respect and cherish life.
Evaluations include: project-based evaluation forms, classroom observations, reports on children's overall development, and assessments of children's performance at home. Assessment files are distributed every semester to report children's performance and provide suggestions to parents.
The school will comply with theKindergarten Education Curriculum GuidelinesThe (2017) Planning Curriculum will not require children in nursery classes to write in pen and pencil, nor will they be required to do mechanical transcription or drill-based numeracy exercises.
