Program Planning
The kindergarten pays attention to the developmental needs of children and emphasizes the quality of learning and teaching. It is expected that through diversified teaching modes, including picture book teaching, theme-based teaching, and thematic studies, children can actively learn, think, explore, try and discover in an encouraging environment, and enjoy the fun of learning.
With "child-centered" and "learning through play" as the principles of teaching and learning, the school is committed to promoting picture book teaching and using a three-level questioning approach to enable children to learn the four major elements, including the language element, the story element, the art element and the cultural element. The school also organizes Picture Book Art Week and Discovery Play Week every year to allow children to actively explore and enjoy the fun of free play.
Continuous observation is used to record and analyze children's learning process and development in the six domains through qualitative and quantitative data, and incorporate the views of different stakeholders, and provide appropriate suggestions to help parents understand the developmental needs of their children. Assessment tools include monthly thematic assessment and learning reports, half-yearly summative assessment and learning history files.
The school will comply with theKindergarten Education Curriculum GuidelinesThe (2017) Planning Curriculum will not require children in nursery classes to write in pen and pencil, nor will they be required to do mechanical transcription or drill-based numeracy exercises.
