Program Planning
We use life education to nurture the growth of young children, establish a theme month based on character stories, and design a school-based curriculum that integrates the two languages and six learning areas. The curriculum is designed according to the physical and mental development of the children to meet their learning interests and needs, and to enhance their knowledge, skills, attitudes and creativity. Positive thinking, behavior and values are fostered through positive education. The school promotes a positive and optimistic attitude towards learning and character education to build children's independence in learning and good character. We hope that children will enjoy learning and experience a pleasant and colorful group life, in which they will develop good character, creative thinking, a sense of responsibility and problem-solving skills, and will be able to achieve all-round development in the areas of morality, intellectuality, physical fitness, social skills, aesthetics and spirituality.
The school has completed the Quality Education Fund (QEF) sponsored Enhanced Education Program. The school will continue to use the "Pui Yuen Creative Picture Book Series" as the core of the picture book education curriculum, and the six learning areas of the Integrated Curriculum Guidelines, so as to enable the children to develop their multiple intelligences and lay a good foundation for learning.
The school-based curriculum is designed to support the development of young children, and is based on a theme of life and integrated with character education. It encourages children to read, use stories and draw on the language of life to enhance their language proficiency, and promotes the development of their skills, attitudes and knowledge.
Diversified group activities are designed so that children can participate in activities of their choice, making it easier for teachers to recognize the abilities and characteristics of each child and provide encouragement and guidance. Learning through games, music and physical activities enhances children's motivation and interest in learning, and strengthens their cognitive, physical and mental development. Using gospel music combined with Putonghua learning, children can manipulate musical instruments and body parts according to the rhythm, allowing them to develop creativity and art, as well as to learn and utilize Putonghua. Children learn English and Pinyin through rich contexts, English stories, games and songs, and develop confidence in using English to communicate with others. Children will become healthy, happy, active, inquisitive, creative, and well-mannered children.
Record children's learning outcomes through continuous observation, child development assessment forms, and create child developmental profiles.
The school will comply with theKindergarten Education Curriculum GuidelinesThe (2017) Planning Curriculum will not require children in nursery classes to write in pen and pencil, nor will they be required to do mechanical transcription or drill-based numeracy exercises.
