With the goal of nurturing bilingual students, we are committed to providing a language learning environment and opportunities for training. In addition to the designated classrooms where lessons are conducted in English, students are able to listen to and use English during morning assembly, assembly in the auditorium, sports day, student council elections, graduation ceremony and public functions. A variety of English-related activities are organized outside the classroom to enhance the English immersion environment. Learning and Teaching Strategies :
We emphasize on the training of Chinese and English languages to help Secondary 1 students to consolidate their language foundation. The design of the curriculum is based on the learning needs of students, the requirements of the Education Bureau, the teaching characteristics of the school, and the expertise of the teachers. Teaching strategies emphasize the enhancement of learning motivation to build up students' independent learning skills, and the use of appropriate questioning techniques to enhance students' participation in class and facilitate learning.
Teacher professional training and development:
Teacher development and professional training aims to help teachers cope with the changes brought about by the new senior secondary curriculum and school development, and to nurture talents for the future development of the school. In-school training such as seminars and workshops are provided annually in accordance with the development needs and key concerns of schools so that teachers can equip themselves early to meet the needs of their work.
Whole School Participation Model Integrated Education:
The School's Student Support Team consists of the Deputy Principal, the Special Education Coordinator, the Discipline Officer, the Guidance Officer, the Social Worker and the Senior Teacher, together with the Educational Psychologist, the Speech Therapist and other professionals, to support students with special educational needs (SEN). To address the needs of students, the school emphasizes on catering for students' learning differences in learning and teaching, such as enhancing students' learning motivation through curriculum design and diversified teaching policies, and adapting assignments and tests for students with special educational needs. The school also makes use of the Learning Support Grant to provide comprehensive support for students through outsourcing of learning, social group training, emotional support, and hiring of student counselors. The on-campus counseling team and extracurricular activities team also organize different activities for students with SEN, so that they can enhance their self-confidence in non-academic areas and participate in the school life more actively. In terms of teacher training, apart from arranging teachers to attend the EDB's "Catering for Diverse Learning Needs" training course, special seminars or workshops will also be organized during teacher training days or staff meetings to enhance their professional knowledge. The Student Support Team also holds regular class meetings with class teachers and subject teachers to exchange information on the situation of students with SEN in school and to review the support measures immediately. In terms of home-school cooperation, the school's support team will establish a regular communication mechanism with SEN parents so that they can have a better understanding of their children's learning situation and the school's support work, and work together to help SEN students grow up.
