Learning and Teaching Strategies :
We emphasize biliteracy and trilingualism, teaching Chinese in Mandarin and English, science and visual arts in full English, three days a week in English and two days a week in Mandarin. There are morning exercises and reading periods. Each subject utilizes the elements of Whole Class Gifted Education to enhance students' higher-order thinking skills through the "15 Strokes of Gifted Teaching", the "6 Styles of Creative Teaching" and the "5 Levels of Emotions"; utilizes differentiated teaching and brain science teaching strategies to cater for students' learning differences; develops students' ability of inquiry through the 5E's teaching methodology; and utilizes theme-based teaching and project learning to implement cross-curricular learning, so as to examine and serve the whole world in a holistic manner to enhance students' quality of learning and to enhance students' knowledge. Course Tailoring and Adaptation Measures:
The school-based curriculum is designed to be taught in a hierarchical manner, and an enrichment program is implemented according to the multiple intelligences of the students.
Educational support for non-Chinese speaking students:
The school provides additional support to the admitted NCS students to help them learn Chinese: providing after-school Chinese learning support; employing additional teachers/teaching assistants to support NCS students' Chinese language learning; organizing inclusive school activities; and providing additional support (e.g. pull-out/group learning, Pinyin teaching materials, etc.) as necessary in the implementation of Putonghua education across the board for all grades (i.e., all classes/groups) in the school.
