The school encourages teachers to pursue further studies. School-based training is held no less than three times a year for teachers. It also arranges care for new teachers and encourages them to participate in and organize joint teaching and learning exchange activities, including teaching workshops organized by the school sponsoring body, seminars organized by the Education Bureau and even learning and exchange tours organized by overseas educational institutions (e.g. Singapore and sister schools in the Mainland). The Director of Integrated Education was also selected to participate in the "i-Journey" Paid Overseas Study Program for In-service Secondary School Teachers to study and exchange in Australia. In the 2021/22 school year, a teacher from the school was seconded to the Information Technology in Education Section of the EDB to represent the school as the Centre of Excellence in Information Technology in Education, providing teacher training for all primary and secondary school teachers in Hong Kong to promote the development of e-learning. The school has different teaching groups for Chinese Language, English Language, Mathematics and Liberal Studies from S1 to S6, and the teaching materials for each subject are designed to cater for students with different learning needs. The school has a Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator to lead the promotion of the "Whole School Approach" to integrated education and work with the Special Educational Needs Support Teachers to build an inclusive culture in the school. The Secondary School Places Allocation (SSPA) System consists of two phases: Discretionary Places Allocation (DP) and Central Allocation (CA).
Discretionary places refer to S1 places reserved by schools for self-admission of students. Government, aided and caput secondary schools are allowed to reserve S1 places not exceeding 30%, while DSS secondary schools are allowed to reserve S1 places exceeding 30%.
The application period for the 2024 Discretionary Places is from January 2 to January 16, 2024. All secondary schools participating in the Secondary School Places Allocation (SSPA) System (participating secondary schools) will accept applications during the same period. Parents of current Primary 6 students participating in the Secondary School Places Allocation (SSPA) will receive two copies of the Application Form for Secondary 1 Discretionary Places in early December 2023 through their children's elementary school.
