Whole School Participation Model Integrated Education:
The school is committed to building an inclusive and caring campus and adopting a Whole School Approach to support students with SEN, providing them with appropriate and diversified support services to enhance their learning effectiveness. The Learning Support Committee comprises the SEN Co-ordinator, the SEN Support Teacher, the Guidance Officer, the Teacher-in-charge of the Teaching and Learning Department, counselors with experience in catering for students with SEN, the Social Worker and the Educational Psychologist. The psychologist will provide support to teachers in training for SEN students, parents and staff. The school utilizes the Learning Support Grant flexibly, together with other resources, to recruit additional manpower, including student counselors and staff to support students. In addition, the school has purchased professional services such as English and Chinese language enhancement classes, non-Chinese language and mathematics enhancement classes, executive functioning groups, after-school homework guidance classes, speech therapy services and art therapy.
The school also provides learning, homework and test accommodations for needy students. Students with severe special learning needs are provided with appropriate assessments, referrals and individualized learning plans, and are assisted in their learning through multi-disciplinary collaboration. In addition, the school also arranges social groups and peer counseling, such as the "Partnership Program" to help students integrate into the school. The School has provided additional support to the admitted NCS students to help them learn Chinese: employing additional teachers/teaching assistants to support NCS students' Chinese language learning; arranging intensive Chinese language teaching modes (e.g. pull-out learning on a need basis, group learning, etc.); and organizing cultural integration activities.
