Positive values are fostered through a wide range of school-based training and counseling activities. The \"Growing Sky\" (Primary) Program is implemented from Primary 4 to Primary 6, and has been selected as a Caring School for 15 consecutive years. The school has been selected as a Caring School for 15 consecutive years, and was awarded the \"School with Inspired Potential Award\" by IAIE in 2012.<\/p>\n<h3>Learning and Teaching Strategies :<\/h3>\n<p>The school has planned a school-based curriculum that best suits the development characteristics of the school and the needs of the students. In terms of the school-based curriculum, the school has implemented a number of cross-curricular activities to strengthen the connection between different subjects, so as to enable students to learn in a more systematic manner. In terms of teaching strategies, the school implements the six principles of small class teaching, the elements of gifted education, extra-curricular reading in both Chinese and English, STEAM education, science exploration, programming, AI courses and e-learning, etc., so as to enhance the effectiveness of learning and teaching by allowing students to learn more through small group interactions, classroom teaching strategies and self-directed learning, thus enhancing the effectiveness of learning and teaching. In order to cater for the diversity of student learning, we will enhance the effectiveness of learning and teaching.<\/p>\n<h3>Life-wide Learning:<\/h3>\n<p>Students participate in at least one of the following sports: golf, dance, fencing, baseball, rope skipping, drama, Olympics, track and field, artistic gymnastics, balls, robotics, programming, science team, debate team, hand bells, percussion, koto, choir, orchestra, lion dance, taekwondo, Little John's Ambulance Brigade, Boy Scouts, snooker, equestrianism, comics, and a campus television station.<\/p>\n<h3>Course Tailoring and Adaptation Measures:<\/h3>\n<p>We have set up the Advanced Supplementary Program to provide students with tailor-made learning courses. Students with potential are recommended to participate in gifted education programmes organized by the Academy for Gifted Education, tertiary institutions and the Education Bureau's online gifted learning programmes to help students enhance their interest and motivation in learning and develop their potential.<\/p>\n<h3>Educational support for non-Chinese speaking students:<\/h3>\n<p>The School provides additional support to its admitted NCS students to help them learn Chinese: providing after-school Chinese learning support; employing additional teachers\/teaching assistants to support NCS students' Chinese language learning; arranging intensive Chinese teaching modes (e.g. pull-outs on a need basis, group\/small group learning, etc.); organizing inclusive campus activities; and employing additional staff and\/or procuring additional translation\/interpretation services to facilitate communication with parents.<\/p>\n<h3>Home school cooperation:<\/h3>\n<p>The PTA enhances home-school cooperation through meetings and activities such as parent volunteer services, educational seminars, parent-child activities, summer activities and trips. Parent class observation and parent-teacher conferences are organized to enhance mutual communication. The school has set up a \"Parent Academy\" program to encourage parents to continue learning and actively participate in parent seminars and various home-school activities.
