The Moral and Civic Education Section cooperates with the Guidance and Counseling Section to implement school-based programs to support children's growth. The school arranges birthday parties for Primary 1 students, parent-teacher conferences for all grades, and devotional activities for Catholic students. The Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) has built up a good partnership with the school in organizing various kinds of activities, and parents are happy to volunteer. The Alumni Association also helps to unite students' strengths and perpetuate their sense of belonging to the school.<\/p>\n<h3>Learning and Teaching Strategies :<\/h3>\n<p>Flexible and effective scheduling of lessons and diversified learning activities. Enriching students' experience through a holistic approach to learning. We emphasize on the all-round development of students and promote the arts curriculum in the four major areas of music, dance, drama and visual arts. Each subject is complemented by project-based learning, inquiry-based learning and cooperative learning, which enables students to collaborate with their peers to construct knowledge and prepare for future learning.<\/p>\n<h3>Life-wide Learning:<\/h3>\n<p>Students are encouraged to participate in activities to develop their potentials, including inter-school competitions, subject visits, Catholic activities, parent-child activities, reading award scheme, volunteer services, after-school gifted programs, etc. There are also service groups such as Leaders, Little Girl Guides, Red Cross, Little Pioneers of Christ, Community Youth Club and Flag-raising Team.<\/p>\n<h3>Course Tailoring and Adaptation Measures:<\/h3>\n<p>A school-based mindset training curriculum for Mathematics and General Studies, a school-based curriculum for Chinese and English, and a unified curriculum for Grades 1 to 3 have been developed. Universal Education is implemented at each level from Primary 1 to Primary 6 according to need.<\/p>\n<h3>Educational support for non-Chinese speaking students:<\/h3>\n<p>The school provides additional support to the admitted NCS students to help them learn Chinese: providing after-school Chinese learning support; employing additional teachers\/teaching assistants to support NCS students' Chinese learning; arranging intensive Chinese teaching modes (e.g. pull-out learning, group\/cluster learning, etc. on a need basis); organizing inclusive school activities; and providing additional support (e.g. pull-out learning, pinyin teaching materials, etc.) to NCS students as and when necessary in the context of the implementation of Putonghua teaching across the board for some of the grades in the school (i.e., for all classes\/groups).
