In the Chinese subject, a school-based curriculum is implemented according to the needs of students. In the English subject, Whole Language Teaching (WLT) and a structured phonics program are implemented from Primary 1 onwards by grades, so as to enhance students' ability to read aloud and their interest in reading through listening to and reading aloud a large number of English storybooks and mastering phonics skills. In the upper grades, students are encouraged to read a variety of text types and books to deepen their reading skills. Mathematics is infused with an advanced thinking curriculum; General Studies is implemented with project-based learning, a school-based astronomy program, and life skills and attitudes training. A school-based STEAM program is implemented to develop students' creativity and problem-solving skills.
