Students are encouraged to organize and participate in a wide range of extra-curricular activities in order to achieve balanced development and leadership training.
Learning and Teaching Strategies :
The mission of the school is not only to enable students to understand the Christian faith, but also to build up their integrity and independent thinking ability, and to teach them to respect and cherish the traditional Chinese culture, and to put what they have learned into the service of others (We are men for and with others.). Through the formal and non-formal curriculum, students are nurtured to develop morally, intellectually, physically, socially, aesthetically and spiritually for a well-rounded education. Reading learning activities are provided in different subjects, and STEAM learning activities are provided in S1 and S2 to strengthen students' mathematical and scientific cognition and problem-solving skills. In order to strengthen the learning of science and technology education, the school has launched the "Innovative Design and Engineering" (IDEEA) school-based curriculum in junior secondary schools, aiming at enabling students to master the design thinking mode and gain practical production experience through project learning.
Teacher professional training and development:
Teachers actively participate in various workshops and seminars. Teacher training days are organized three times a year. The school sponsors teachers' training at a cost of up to $2,000 per teacher per year.
Educational support for non-Chinese speaking students:
The school provides additional support to the admitted NCS students to help them learn Chinese: cultural integration activities. The school builds an inclusive campus through extra-curricular activities and visits to monuments, museums, etc. NCS students are assessed on their level and support measures are planned. NCS students are assessed when they enter the school and support measures are planned according to their level of proficiency, such as the selection of appropriate textbooks and the teaching of Chinese language and history in isolation. The medium of instruction is mainly Cantonese.
Other:
The school excels in various areas of whole-person development, including sports, music, Student Council and various student organizations, Catholic activities, debates, drama, Scouting (Troop 15), Red Cross (Youth Group 34), student-led school publications, and campus television (Star Studio). Every year, we have frequent exchanges with secondary schools in China and overseas. Teacher-student groups have visited Shanghai, Beijing, Taiwan, the United Kingdom, Ireland, etc., and students have also traveled to Europe and the United States for music exchanges.

The campus covers an area of over 220,000 square feet and is surrounded by trees, wild birds and squirrels. The school building is a sophisticated, low-rise campus with facilities that go beyond those of Y2K schools. In terms of school facilities, the center of the campus is a sanctuary, and next to it is an auditorium building (including rooftop garden, sky classroom, Wu Jieyi Plaza, indoor basketball court, badminton court, etc.), which just opened in 2014. There are also 4 ball courts, gymnasium, library, 2 computer classrooms, 4 laboratories, a campus radio production center, a music center, an art center, an integrative humanities center, a prayer room, a student activity center and a cafeteria.
