School-wide language policy:
The school has always emphasized on English language teaching in its language education direction of nurturing students to be biliterate, trilingual and proficient in both Chinese and English. Taking advantage of the fine-tuning of the Medium of Instruction (MOI) of the Education Bureau (EDB), the school has begun to implement the "Language Enhancement Scheme for Multi-disciplinary Studies" in the Junior Secondary Schools. Starting from the 2012/13 school year, the major subjects of junior secondary schools - Integrated Humanities (combining Social Studies, Geography and Fundamentals of Finance) and Science (including Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Science) are taught in English, and a cross-curricular English Extension Course is also added to increase students' opportunities to learn English, and to enhance students' competence and confidence in English; among the more than 20 senior secondary mandatory and elective subjects, except for Chinese Language, Civic and Social Development / General Studies, and General Studies, which are taught in English, Among the 20-odd compulsory and elective subjects at senior secondary level, English is used as the medium of instruction except for Chinese Language, Civic and Social Development/Liberal Studies, Chinese History, Tourism and Hospitality, Health Management and Social Care, and Visual Arts, which are taught in Chinese. The junior secondary curriculum strengthens the interface with the senior secondary level through cross-curricular language learning and English extension activities in Mathematics.
Tests and study adaptation measures:
In terms of academic assessment policy, apart from standardized tests, schools adopt continuous assessment to assess students' abilities and performance. Continuous assessment includes online exercises, book reports and project learning. The school attaches great importance to the cultivation of students' character, hoping that students can have the spirit of self-consciousness, self-discipline and autonomy to become good citizens in the future. Through the planning of the curriculum and the organization of activities, students are able to cultivate a correct outlook on life and values. The school also has a resident social worker and an educational psychologist to provide students with adequate resources for counseling and appropriate support.
Learning and Teaching Strategies :
The school focuses on enhancing students' ability to learn, and actively promotes learning through reading, project learning, good curriculum design, enrichment classes, career planning, multiple intelligences and giftedness, and summer revision programs to enhance students' learning effectiveness. The school emphasizes the balanced development of the five education areas and tries to expand resources and space as much as possible. In addition, the school actively promotes uniformed teams and diversified extra-curricular activities to cultivate self-discipline and collegiality, as well as to build up self-image. The diversified curriculum provides students with more choices to develop their potentials and interests. Teacher professional training and development:
Tung Wah Group of Hospitals is very supportive of teacher development and training, and organizes a number of teacher seminars and workshops every year with the active participation of teachers. Teachers are also willing to participate in activities and courses organized by the Education Bureau and outside the school.
Whole School Participation Model Integrated Education:
The Student Support Team of the School comprises the Deputy Principal, the SENCo, the Guidance Teacher, the Chinese, English and Mathematics subject teachers, the Social Worker, the Teaching Assistant, the Speech Therapist and the Educational Psychologist. Apart from conducting assessments for individual students, the school-based educational psychologists also conduct regular Individual Learning Plan (ILP) meetings and invite parents to participate in the meetings and workshops, so as to jointly formulate ILPs for the students and review the effectiveness of the ILPs on a regular basis, so as to equip parents with the skills to take care of and teach their children effectively. In addition, educational psychologists will provide support for teachers' training on students with SEN, and teachers are encouraged to receive special education training courses, so as to enhance the professional competence of teachers in caring for students with SEN. The school has flexibly utilized the Learning Support Grant, together with other resources, to employ additional manpower, including (two) teaching assistants to support students, and to procure professional services, including concentration training group, literacy training group, etc., so as to help students' learning through multi-disciplinary collaboration.
In addition, the school also organizes inclusive activities, such as inviting guests to the school to share their views or participating in inclusive activities organized by organizations, so as to teach students to understand people with different needs in the society. The school emphasizes home-school co-operation and regularly arranges members of the Student Support Team or special teachers to communicate with parents, and also requests the speech therapist to provide parents with professional advice on how to help improve the students' speech problems at home and jointly support the students.

The school provides additional support to the admitted NCS students to help them learn Chinese: providing after-school Chinese learning support; and organizing cultural integration activities. Parents are notified of major school announcements in English and are informed of the progress of their students' learning through the Parents' Day.

The school has a computer science teaching room with over 40 computers, a STEM creativity lab with two high-performance precision laser cutters, three stereo printers, over 30 laptops sufficient for classroom use, and a variety of small woodworking and electronic tools for students to design and create products. The school also has a study room and four small group teaching rooms, and has purchased additional iPads for use in library classes and different subjects.
