The school's ethos is simple and disciplined, emphasizing the development of self-discipline. Moral education, discipline and counseling are given equal emphasis. Through developmental and preventive activities, students are guided to understand themselves, develop their potentials and learn ways to cope with difficulties. School social workers and educational psychologists provide appropriate counseling services to students.
Learning and Teaching Strategies :
- Promote peer lesson observations and research festivals to enhance the effectiveness of teaching and learning.
- Through a variety of teaching modes and project-based learning in the classroom, students can develop independent thinking and judgmental skills.
- In order to arouse students' interest in reading and to promote reading, the school has actively implemented the Early Reading Class Scheme, the Extensive Reading Scheme and the Junior Secondary School Reading Award Scheme, etc. The school library has also implemented various award schemes and promotional activities, such as organizing various book fairs, visits to the Central Library and arranging author talks. The school emphasizes on professional development and training of teachers. Every year, all teachers attend a school-based teacher development day. Teachers also participate in seminars, workshops and exchange activities in different areas according to their personal interests and work needs.
Whole School Participation Model Integrated Education:
Under the five principles of "Early Identification", "Early Support", "Whole School Approach", "Home-School Cooperation" and "Cross-Sectoral Collaboration", the School's Student Support Team, Student Guidance Team, School Social Workers, Educational Psychologists and Clinical Psychologists collaborate with the School to plan appropriate strategies to support students in need, and at the same time, serve as the gatekeeper for the mental health of all teachers and students. The SEN Co-ordinator is responsible for integrating resources from different parties and strengthening communication and collaboration with teachers of different subjects and professionals outside the school, so as to provide appropriate learning activities and counseling services for students in need. The school organizes parent-teacher seminars, Christmas dinners, S1 parent group meetings and telephone communication groups to enhance home-school communication, as well as telephone and face-to-face meetings with individual parents to support students and families in need. In order to provide regular learning support to students in need, there are "Homework Tutorial Classes" every Friday after school and "Revision Classes" during examination periods. The school participates in the "Healthy Campus Program" and the "Challenging Infinite Quadratic Program", as well as various extra-curricular activities to encourage students of different grades and backgrounds to come into contact with each other, to increase the opportunities for cooperation and communication, to promote mutual acceptance among students, and to create a harmonious culture in the whole school.

The School provides additional support to admitted NCS students to help them learn Chinese: providing after-school Chinese learning support; employing additional teachers/teaching assistants to support NCS students' Chinese language learning; arranging intensive Chinese teaching modes (e.g. pull-out learning on a need basis, group learning, etc.); developing school-based Chinese Language curriculum and/or adapting teaching materials; and organizing cultural integration activities.
