Learning and Teaching Strategies :

The school strives to explore effective teaching methods and has received funding from the Education Authority to implement the "Teaching Tips", "Speedy Learning" and "Encouragement Tips" programs to enhance the teaching skills of teachers and the learning abilities and motivation of students. The above programs have been promoted to other schools with funding from the Teachers' District Network. The school continues to introduce the concepts and practices of the programs into the classroom to enhance the effectiveness of learning. In line with the education reform, the school has introduced the Junior Liberal Studies subject to bridge the gap with the New Senior Secondary curriculum, and progressively taught self-learning methods and thinking and communication skills at junior secondary levels. The English Language subject is grouped according to teaching needs, and the school continues to implement the use of "information technology" in teaching and learning. The school has also strengthened its homework policy, utilizing co-curricular activities and advanced teaching facilities to provide students with diversified learning opportunities.

Teacher professional training and development:

We continue to implement the New Teacher Mentoring Scheme, arranging experienced teachers to serve as mentors for new teachers and assisting them in their professional growth. We also organize professional development activities for teachers, arranging classroom observation and exchange of teaching experience among teachers, so as to enhance teachers' values, professional knowledge and teaching skills.

Whole School Participation Model Integrated Education:

The School is committed to building an inclusive culture and adopting a "Whole School Approach" to support students with special educational needs (SEN). Through the deployment of resources, the School provides students with appropriate support services so as to enhance their learning effectiveness and facilitate their integration into school life. The school has set up a Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENCo) and introduced a counseling team, a discipline team, a class teacher, a social worker, an educational psychologist, a teaching officer and subject teachers according to the needs of individual students, so as to provide appropriate support services for students with special educational needs.

Each year, the school will utilize the Learning Support Grant to hire additional staff and purchase external services to provide additional support to students according to the situation of the students in the school. For example, speech therapy service, socialization training, executive function training, etc.

Schools attach importance to home-school co-operation and have established a regular communication mechanism to enable parents to understand the learning characteristics of students with SEN through different channels, so as to complement the school's measures and discuss with parents the strategies for supporting the students.

The Secondary School Places Allocation (SSPA) System consists of two phases: Discretionary Places Allocation (DP) and Central Allocation (CA).
Discretionary places refer to S1 places reserved by schools for self-admission of students. Government, aided and caput secondary schools are allowed to reserve S1 places not exceeding 30%, while DSS secondary schools are allowed to reserve S1 places exceeding 30%.
The application period for the 2024 Discretionary Places is from January 2 to January 16, 2024. All secondary schools participating in the Secondary School Places Allocation (SSPA) System (participating secondary schools) will accept applications during the same period. Parents of current Primary 6 students participating in the Secondary School Places Allocation (SSPA) will receive two copies of the Application Form for Secondary 1 Discretionary Places in early December 2023 through their children's elementary school.
Parents may refer to the "Handbook on Application for Secondary One Discretionary Places", or visitEducation Bureau(https://www.edb.gov.hk/) or call: 2891 0088 for a list of schools through the Education Bureau's automated telephone enquiry system.
Parents can submit applications in paper form or through the Secondary School Places Allocation (SSPA) e-Platform. Once an application is submitted, it cannot be withdrawn, canceled or changed.

Parents are advised to consider two important factors when choosing a school for their children: their children's abilities and the characteristics of the preferred school.

You can communicate with your child's subject teachers to learn more about your child's abilities. For the characteristics of the target school, you may refer to the "Profile of a Secondary School" issued by the Committee on Home-School Co-operation to understand the school's philosophy, language of instruction, religion, class structure, etc. You may also refer to the "School Profile" issued by the Committee on Home-School Co-operation to learn more about the school's philosophy, language, religion and class structure.Visit the school's webpage on this websiteThis is because our information is also collected from theSecondary School OverviewThe school's website and information about the school on the internet, including the schools' Youtube Channels.

We believe that as long as we choose suitable schools according to the abilities of our children, we will make them happy to learn and enjoy going to school, which will be most helpful to their studies.

Parents can only apply for a maximum of two participating secondary schools for their children. Note: Applications for Discretionary Places from more than two secondary schools, whether submitted in paper form or through the Secondary School Places Allocation (SSPA) e-platform, will be considered invalid.
There is no district restriction on the application for discretionary places and parents can choose target secondary schools across districts.
