In accordance with the school motto of "The Light of the World", students are encouraged to emulate the Christian spirit of love, sacrifice and service. The school has established a seniority system, whereby students are encouraged to set a good example for their peers and to cultivate the spirit of self-discipline and mutual help. There are grade clubs at all levels, and a system of "Sister Classes" for S6 and S3, S5 and S2, and S4 and S1, to further cultivate the spirit of peer-to-peer cooperation and collaboration among students.
Learning and Teaching Strategies :

To promote teachers' professional development, the school organizes different professional training regularly, including:
- Enhancement of teaching effectiveness (e.g. mobile teaching, catering for students' diverse learning needs, development of students' self-learning skills);
- to enhance the knowledge and skills training on student counseling (e.g. care for students with special educational needs and crisis management); and
- Training workshops for teachers' personal growth (e.g., teacher retreats and United Christian Schools Teachers' Spiritual Formation).
- The school also has a mentor teacher program to help new teachers become more comfortable with teaching at the school.
Whole School Participation Model Integrated Education:
The School is committed to building an inclusive and caring culture and adopts a Whole School Approach to support students with special educational needs. Through the deployment of resources, the School provides students with appropriate and diversified support services, so as to enhance their learning effectiveness and facilitate their integration into school life. The school emphasizes home-school co-operation and discusses with parents on strategies to support students through different channels. The school has set up a Special Education Support Team comprising a Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator, a Special Educational Needs Support Teacher, a teacher with special education training, a social worker, an educational psychologist and a teaching assistant. The school flexibly utilizes the Learning Support Grant (LSA) to purchase training courses on emotional management, speech therapy services, after-school learning motor and skill enhancement classes, and inclusive activities, etc. The school social worker and educational psychologist have also been working closely with the school. The School Social Worker and Educational Psychologist also provide social skills training to students in need, and arrange students to participate in volunteer services and visit different organizations to help them with their career planning. The Speech Therapist also provides professional advice to parents on how to help students with speech problems at home. The school also arranges test accommodations and special examination arrangements for students with special educational needs to apply for public examinations. At the same time, the school provides students and their parents with information on services provided by outside organizations, and provides teachers with information on the Education Bureau's "Catering for Differential Learning Needs" training courses and arranges for them to receive training.
Educational support for non-Chinese speaking students:
The School provides additional support to its admitted NCS students to help them learn Chinese: employing additional teachers/teaching assistants to support NCS students' learning of Chinese; arranging intensive Chinese teaching modes (e.g. pull-out learning, small group learning, etc.); organizing cultural integration activities; and employing additional staff and/or procuring additional translation/interpretation services to facilitate communication with parents.
