English debates, English drama and puppetry training, musicals and English activities have been very effective and students have won awards for their outstanding performance. The school emphasizes students' "biliteracy and trilingualism" through a reading program, an excellent curriculum, and a rich variety of Chinese and English language activities, such as debates, drama, and writing, in order to strengthen their Chinese and English expressive skills and higher-order thinking skills. The school also employs foreign teachers to teach English. The "English Week" is the highlight of the year and is enjoyed by all students.

The school has adopted the principle of "Love in Strictness", which encourages students to be rigorous and attentive, and to strive for excellence. The students of YCIS are characterized by "health and vitality, perseverance and caring". In the spirit of Christ, we promote the whole-person development of our students, build up a sound character and a spirit of fellowship, benefit the community, and glorify God and others. Every year, there are Gospel Week, Christmas, Easter and Form 6 Thanksgiving services, summer retreats, fellowships and cell groups. Setting up a "Warmth Filling Station" to enhance students' care and love for their families through different festivals and activities, and to connect academic subjects with their lives, thus diversifying their campus life. The "Yau Chung Sunshine Project" and "Best Character Award" were implemented to encourage students to have a balanced development in the Sixth Form. To implement the "Sunflower Rehabilitation Program" to guide students to face up to their misbehavior. To set up a theme for the school year and establish a clear direction: "Keeping Enthusiasm, Igniting Hope" for the year 2022-23.

Learning and Teaching Strategies :

The school's policy of "love in the midst of rigor" is to build up a spirit of excellence and self-discipline in learning. Teaching is rigorous, expectations are high, and students are taught with respect and respect, and their needs are met. The Secondary School Places Allocation (SSPA) System consists of two phases: Discretionary Places Allocation (DP) and Central Allocation (CA).
Discretionary places refer to S1 places reserved by schools for self-admission of students. Government, aided and caput secondary schools are allowed to reserve S1 places not exceeding 30%, while DSS secondary schools are allowed to reserve S1 places exceeding 30%.
The application period for the 2024 Discretionary Places is from January 2 to January 16, 2024. All secondary schools participating in the Secondary School Places Allocation (SSPA) System (participating secondary schools) will accept applications during the same period. Parents of current Primary 6 students participating in the Secondary School Places Allocation (SSPA) will receive two copies of the Application Form for Secondary 1 Discretionary Places in early December 2023 through their children's elementary school.
