"Sincerity and Love" is the motto of the school, and we hope that our students can learn and grow in a caring atmosphere. To this end, we provide tailor-made workshops, seminars, classroom teachers' sessions and current affairs discussions for students at all levels, with the aim of fostering in them a sense of responsibility, a sense of belonging and an appreciation of the people and things around them.
Learning and Teaching Strategies :
In order to enhance the effectiveness of learning and teaching, the school emphasizes the important elements of effective learning - preparing for lessons, engaging in lessons, and consolidating what has been learned in lessons. To this end, all subject teams are actively involved in enhancing the effectiveness of learning and teaching to cater for learner diversity on the one hand, and participating in relevant teacher training programs to meet the needs of students on the other. The Curriculum Development Unit of the school regularly reviews the curriculum in the light of social development and students' needs. In order to promote whole-person and balanced development of students, the school arranges different opportunities for Other Learning Experiences (OLE) and encourages students to actively participate in them. In response to the needs of students, the subject teams have infused different reading materials and implemented reading activities in the curriculum to broaden students' reading horizons and learning through reading.
Teacher professional training and development:
The school emphasizes on teacher development and training. Every year, the school arranges teacher training activities in response to the school's concerns and development needs to help teachers' professional development. In addition, the school has set up learning circles for teachers to develop their professional knowledge and skills in different areas in small groups. The school's teachers are enthusiastic about their work, actively participate in development programs, seminars and workshops, and are happy to share and reflect on their learning with their teams and subject groups. Whole School Participation Model Integrated Education:
The school adopts a Whole School Approach (WSA) in implementing IE. The School has set up a Student Care Team to support students with SEN and a Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENCo) to co-ordinate the provision of diversified support programs across the school, formulating individual learning and development plans for students and holding regular meetings to review the effectiveness of the plans, so as to enable parents and students to grasp the students' learning situation and developmental needs, and then to formulate appropriate support.
Educational support for non-Chinese speaking students:
The School provides additional support to the admitted NCS students to help them learn Chinese: providing after-school Chinese learning support; arranging intensive Chinese teaching modes (e.g. pull-out learning on a need basis, small group learning, etc.); developing school-based Chinese Language curriculum and/or adapting teaching materials; and organizing cultural integration activities.
