Learning and Teaching Strategies :

  • There are common lesson planning sessions for core subjects, and peer lesson observation is conducted regularly by each subject team to enhance the effectiveness of learning and teaching.
  • The school emphasizes on the learning-oriented assessment mode, and each subject will arrange different kinds of formative assessment tasks in the middle of the semester.
  • To enhance students' academic performance, the school has a weekly testing system and provides remedial courses, workshops and after-school tutorials for students at all levels.

In recent years, the school has systematically arranged for teachers to visit other schools for exchanges and lesson observation to enhance teaching effectiveness. Whole School Participation Model Integrated Education:

The school has set up a Special Educational Needs (SEN) Team under the Counseling Section to coordinate support services for students with SEN. In recent years, the school has added a Social Development Team, an Emotional Adjustment Team, and individual counseling for students with SEN in order to enhance their whole-person development. At the same time, the school has also made special arrangements for each subject examination for students with special needs. The Secondary School Places Allocation (SSPA) System consists of two phases: Discretionary Places Allocation (DP) and Central Allocation (CA).
Discretionary places refer to S1 places reserved by schools for self-admission of students. Government, aided and caput secondary schools are allowed to reserve S1 places not exceeding 30%, while DSS secondary schools are allowed to reserve S1 places exceeding 30%.
The application period for the 2024 Discretionary Places is from January 2 to January 16, 2024. All secondary schools participating in the Secondary School Places Allocation (SSPA) System (participating secondary schools) will accept applications during the same period. Parents of current Primary 6 students participating in the Secondary School Places Allocation (SSPA) will receive two copies of the Application Form for Secondary 1 Discretionary Places in early December 2023 through their children's elementary school.
