We emphasize the cultivation of students' character and whole-person development. We adopt a whole-school approach to discipline and counseling; we also use weekly assemblies, homeroom classes, and developmental group activities to cultivate students' self-discipline and good character. A Medal of Honor Award Scheme has been set up to encourage students to achieve balanced development in the six areas of ethics, intellect, physique, social skills, aesthetics and spirituality. Class teachers, discipline teachers, social workers and educational psychologists provide students with various kinds of support, and each student is provided with a personal locker to alleviate the burden of school bags. Students actively participate in community services. In 2020, the total number of volunteer hours for all students reached 12,108, and 53 students were awarded Gold, Silver and Bronze Volunteer Service Commendation Awards and Long Service Awards by the Social Welfare Department.

The Secondary School Places Allocation (SSPA) System consists of two phases: Discretionary Places Allocation (DP) and Central Allocation (CA).
Discretionary places refer to S1 places reserved by schools for self-admission of students. Government, aided and caput secondary schools are allowed to reserve S1 places not exceeding 30%, while DSS secondary schools are allowed to reserve S1 places exceeding 30%.
The application period for the 2024 Discretionary Places is from January 2 to January 16, 2024. All secondary schools participating in the Secondary School Places Allocation (SSPA) System (participating secondary schools) will accept applications during the same period. Parents of current Primary 6 students participating in the Secondary School Places Allocation (SSPA) will receive two copies of the Application Form for Secondary 1 Discretionary Places in early December 2023 through their children's elementary school.
