Students are trained to share their experiences in English at morning assemblies, which, together with the activities of the English Week, creates an environment conducive to the learning of English. In terms of Putonghua, there are classes in the Junior Middle School where Chinese can be taught in Putonghua (the number of applicants depends on the number of applicants each year), and Putonghua lessons are offered in all classes. Students participate in English, Cantonese, or Putonghua speech, debates, and drama activities to provide adequate biliteracy and trilingualism training.

School Wind:

Students are generally attentive and well-motivated to learn. They listen to the teacher's instructions and the classroom is in good order. Most of the students have completed the pre-study seriously and have established a good habit of pre-study. Students have a serious attitude towards learning, take the initiative to learn and strive to make progress. Students are neat and tidy, respect teachers and teachers, and live in harmony with their peers. They love school, enjoy school life, participate in, organize and arrange school activities, and have a sense of belonging to the school (extracted from the 2019 EDB External School Review Report). For specific strategies, please refer to the item "Others".

Learning and Teaching Strategies :

The school promotes collaborative teaching in all subjects. Teachers work together to develop curriculum frameworks, divide lesson preparation, discuss collectively, revise teaching, observe each other (same subject or cross-subjects), and reflect on and review the effectiveness of teaching. In addition, through students' preparation for classroom learning, classroom focus on teacher-student and student-student interaction, and post-class reflection, the school establishes a student-centered learning mode and the ability of students to be active self-learners, so as to enable students to know how to self-improve and pursue lifelong learning. The curriculum is designed to complement the specialized studies in each of the junior high school's learning areas, so that students can construct their own knowledge in these processes. The school emphasizes English language training to create a good English language environment and promotes Putonghua teaching of Chinese language. The school has compiled its own curriculum materials for junior secondary Chinese, English reading comprehension and English literature. In September 2015, the school implemented small class teaching at all levels, with six classes at each level, each with 25-28 students, and a class division mechanism based on English, Mathematical Ability, and Putonghua for learning Chinese, in order to further enhance the interactions between teachers and students, and to take care of students with different learning abilities. In the whole-school questionnaire surveys conducted over the years, more than 70% of the students considered that the teacher-student and student-student interactions in the classroom were adequate and that the teachers cared for the students adequately in the classroom. In addition, enrichment or remedial classes in core subjects are provided at different levels according to the needs of students, and the public examination results of students reflect the effectiveness of these strategies. in the 2018-2022 HKDSE Examination, the average percentage of students who attained Level 4 or above was about 76%, the average percentage of students who attained Level 5 or above was about 34%, and the average percentage of students who were assigned to a local degree program was 93%. In 2022, 81.91 TP3T will be allocated to publicly-funded degree programs, 16.01 TP3T will be allocated to self-funded degree programs, and 441 TP3T will be allocated to triple-degree programs at all levels.

Teacher professional training and development:

Our teachers are experienced, hardworking, professional and caring. They are committed to nurturing young people and have a good relationship with students. Teachers actively participate in school-based and external training for self-improvement. Collaborative teaching and teacher mentoring programs are implemented. Teachers collectively prepare lessons, observe lessons, and reflect after lessons to enhance teaching effectiveness, promote student-centered teaching, and emphasize student-student and student-teacher interactions.

Whole School Participation Model Integrated Education:

The School is committed to building an inclusive and caring culture and adopting a Whole School Approach to support students with SEN. Through home-school cooperation and resource deployment, the School provides students with appropriate and diversified support services, so as to enhance their learning effectiveness and communication skills, and help them integrate into school life. The School has set up a Student Support Team comprising the Deputy Principal, the Special Education Coordinator, special education support teachers, social workers, educational psychologists, speech therapists, classroom teachers and teaching assistants, etc. The School has also arranged for teachers and assistants to enroll in courses related to integrated education in order to enhance their professional competence. The school will also identify students suspected to have special educational needs and refer them to educational psychologists for follow-up so that they can receive appropriate professional services. The School makes flexible use of the Learning Support Grant and school resources to collaborate with external organizations to implement school-based inclusive activities and provide training for students. The School also works closely with professionals such as social workers and educational psychologists to hold regular meetings on Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) for students, and invites parents to join hands in formulating ILPs for students, so as to enable parents to acquire the skills of caring for and teaching their children effectively. In addition, the school provides homework and test accommodations for students in need, and applies to the HKEAA for corresponding accommodations in public examinations.

School facilities:

The school building covers an area of nearly 7,000 square meters, and its facilities include: 36 classrooms, 12 laboratories and special rooms, a large auditorium (with a seating capacity of 1,200), a small auditorium (with a seating capacity of 400), a large library, a science and art room with iMacs, a computer and robotics room, a computer-assisted learning room, a multi-media learning room, and a rooftop garden (with aquaponics and hydroponics science learning areas). The Secondary School Places Allocation (SSPA) System consists of two phases: Discretionary Places Allocation (DP) and Central Allocation (CA).
Discretionary places refer to S1 places reserved by schools for self-admission of students. Government, aided and caput secondary schools are allowed to reserve S1 places not exceeding 30%, while DSS secondary schools are allowed to reserve S1 places exceeding 30%.
The application period for the 2024 Discretionary Places is from January 2 to January 16, 2024. All secondary schools participating in the Secondary School Places Allocation (SSPA) System (participating secondary schools) will accept applications during the same period. Parents of current Primary 6 students participating in the Secondary School Places Allocation (SSPA) will receive two copies of the Application Form for Secondary 1 Discretionary Places in early December 2023 through their children's elementary school.
Parents may refer to the "Handbook on Application for Secondary One Discretionary Places", or visitEducation Bureau(https://www.edb.gov.hk/) or call: 2891 0088 for a list of schools through the Education Bureau's automated telephone enquiry system.
Parents can submit applications in paper form or through the Secondary School Places Allocation (SSPA) e-Platform. Once an application is submitted, it cannot be withdrawn, canceled or changed.

Parents are advised to consider two important factors when choosing a school for their children: their children's abilities and the characteristics of the preferred school.

You can communicate with your child's subject teachers to learn more about your child's abilities. For the characteristics of the target school, you may refer to the "Profile of a Secondary School" issued by the Committee on Home-School Co-operation to understand the school's philosophy, language of instruction, religion, class structure, etc. You may also refer to the "School Profile" issued by the Committee on Home-School Co-operation to learn more about the school's philosophy, language, religion and class structure.Visit the school's webpage on this websiteThis is because our information is also collected from theSecondary School OverviewThe school's website and information about the school on the internet, including the schools' Youtube Channels.

We believe that as long as we choose suitable schools according to the abilities of our children, we will make them happy to learn and enjoy going to school, which will be most helpful to their studies.

Parents can only apply for a maximum of two participating secondary schools for their children. Note: Applications for Discretionary Places from more than two secondary schools, whether submitted in paper form or through the Secondary School Places Allocation (SSPA) e-platform, will be considered invalid.
There is no district restriction on the application for discretionary places and parents can choose target secondary schools across districts.
