School-wide language policy:
With the exception of Chinese Language, Chinese History and Putonghua, all subjects are taught in English. The language teachers emphasize on the four areas of listening, speaking, reading and writing in order to enhance students' language proficiency in all aspects. In addition, the school encourages students to participate in language competitions outside of school, such as essay competitions, speech competitions, debate competitions, and inter-school speech festivals, to give them the opportunity to put their classroom knowledge into practice. In order to enable students to use English and Putonghua well, the school's morning assembly is conducted in English, and there is a sharing session in which students share current events and give speeches in English or Putonghua.

Each year, the school provides scholarships and local university tuition for students with outstanding academic performance, such as the Morrison Scholarship established by the Morrison Fund, and scholarships established by alumni in their own names and by the Parent-Teacher Association. Scholarships are awarded not only to students with outstanding academic performance, but also to those who have demonstrated outstanding leadership skills, excellence in athletic activities, and a willingness to serve the community.
