Active development of STEM education

  • With the government's strong promotion of STEM education in recent years, the school has made great efforts to improve the STEM infrastructure and enhance students' problem-solving skills and creative thinking through interdisciplinary and co-curricular activities, so as to cultivate students' different potentials in order to cope with the challenges of the future.

Developing Self-Directed Learning

  • In order to promote independent learning among the students of the school, we aim at equipping the students with the necessary study skills to help them improve their learning outcomes. At the same time, we provide a variety of activities to promote study skills and independent learning, including a study circle program for senior secondary students, pre-test revision classes for junior secondary students before each examination, and inter-class competitions for S1 and S2 students. The school is committed to building an inclusive and caring campus and adopting a Whole School Approach to support students with special educational needs (SEN) by providing them with appropriate and diversified support services to enhance their learning effectiveness.
The Student Support Team consists of the Deputy Principal, SENCo, Guidance Officer, SEN Support Teacher, Social Worker, Counselor, Teaching Assistant, Educational Psychologist and Speech Therapist. The psychologist will provide support to teachers in training for students with SEN.

The school has flexibly utilized the Learning Support Grant, together with other resources, to employ additional staff, including two Integrated Education Counselors, Learning Support Assistants, Student Support Assistants, etc. At the same time, the school has purchased professional services, such as the Concentration Training Team and the Literacy Training Team, etc. The school also provides needy students with learning, homework and test accommodations. The Secondary School Places Allocation (SSPA) System consists of two phases: Discretionary Places Allocation (DP) and Central Allocation (CA).
Discretionary places refer to S1 places reserved by schools for self-admission of students. Government, aided and caput secondary schools are allowed to reserve S1 places not exceeding 30%, while DSS secondary schools are allowed to reserve S1 places exceeding 30%.
The application period for the 2024 Discretionary Places is from January 2 to January 16, 2024. All secondary schools participating in the Secondary School Places Allocation (SSPA) System (participating secondary schools) will accept applications during the same period. Parents of current Primary 6 students participating in the Secondary School Places Allocation (SSPA) will receive two copies of the Application Form for Secondary 1 Discretionary Places in early December 2023 through their children's elementary school.
