School-wide language policy:
We emphasize the "biliteracy and trilingualism" learning atmosphere. Through a variety of activities, such as the implementation of a weekly English day, thematic English week, English reading and recitation program, the establishment of English ambassadors, the posting of English word cards and famous quotes, etc., students' interest in English has been enhanced. In order to enhance students' self-learning ability, the School Council has subsidized the establishment of a well-equipped English Learning Centre and an annual summer English camp. All disciplines also enhance students' English proficiency through different forms of extended learning. The Chinese Language subject emphasizes the enhancement of students' writing and speaking skills. Putonghua is included in the formal curriculum and a Putonghua Day is organized to increase students' opportunities to communicate in Putonghua.

The school culture is simple and honest, and the relationship between teachers and students is good. The school emphasizes the cultivation of students' moral and civic awareness; implements the dual class teacher system to enhance the care of students, cultivate a good classroom culture and a sense of belonging; and provides opportunities for broadening horizons, visits, exchanges and services to build up a confident and positive attitude. Students with outstanding academic performance are assigned to serve as student leaders to set a good example. We have also set up a number of award schemes and an after-school study room for students to study. Emphasize students' biliteracy and trilingualism training. Adopting a diversified teaching mode, increasing classroom interaction and enhancing students' interest in learning, and encouraging students to learn on their own. We emphasize balanced and holistic learning, focusing on arts, science, commerce and technology. The Junior Secondary School actively develops school-based curricula, such as Environmental Education (S2), Elementary Economics (S3) and Accounting and Business Management (S3). Each subject is revised annually according to the needs of the students and the society in terms of teaching focus, strategies and design of support facilities such as worksheets, on-line self-learning and discussion. We emphasize the professional development of teachers and are committed to classroom research, collaborative lesson planning, mutual lesson observation, cross-subject collaboration and cross-school (local and overseas) teaching sharing.

Through classroom research, mutual lesson observation and exchange, we promote teachers' professional development. Teachers are also encouraged to actively pursue further education and to engage in school-based and regional exchanges and cooperation in order to broaden their horizons and enhance the effectiveness of teaching.
Whole School Participation Model Integrated Education:
The school adopts a Whole School Approach to IE and builds an inclusive and caring campus to provide comprehensive and appropriate support services for students with special learning needs (SEN). The school has set up a Student Support Team, comprising the Deputy Principal (Nurture), the Special Educational Needs Coordinator, the Special Educational Needs Support Teacher, the Integrated Education Teaching Assistant, the School Social Worker, the Educational Psychologist and the Speech Therapist. The team meets regularly to devise appropriate support plans for students in need. The school regularly disseminates information on IE to all teachers, shares relevant educational concepts and teaching suggestions, and organizes thematic seminars on a need basis to enhance teachers' understanding of IE. The school encourages its staff to participate in the training courses organized by the Education Bureau (EDB) to enhance their professional knowledge on IE. The school flexibly utilizes the Learning Support Grant to employ additional IE teaching assistants to help students in need of group or individual support. With the consent of parents, the Student Support Team arranges relevant professional services according to the needs of students, such as social skills training classes, Chinese and English counseling groups, speech therapy services and educational psychology services, etc., with a view to enhancing students' learning effectiveness and communication skills through cross-professional collaboration and building up a positive and confident outlook on life. Last but not least, the school emphasizes on home-school cooperation. The Student Support Team has established a regular communication mechanism to meet and invite parents to participate in the Student Learning Plan meetings and listen to their views in order to jointly support students' learning and growth.
Educational support for non-Chinese speaking students:
The School provides additional support to admitted NCS students to help them learn Chinese: employing additional teachers/teaching assistants to support NCS students' Chinese language learning; arranging intensive Chinese language teaching modes (e.g. pull-out learning, small group learning, etc.); developing school-based Chinese Language curriculum and/or adapting teaching materials; and organizing cultural integration activities. Curriculum adaptation and support are provided according to students' abilities and needs.
