The school emphasizes the development of students' biliteracy and trilingualism, and organizes different types of English language extension activities in line with the language fine-tuning policy. The school accepts applications for S1 Discretionary Places and participation in the Central Allocation of Secondary School Places System.
Admission criteria for Discretionary Places: 30% in school, 30% in interview, 20% in conduct, 10% in extra-curricular activities and awards, 5% from primary school principals and teachers, 5% for children of staff or their relatives, and 5% for children of staff who attend the school. Learning and Teaching Strategies :
In junior secondary schools, group teaching is provided for the main subjects and teaching assistants are employed to enhance learning effectiveness. In senior secondary schools, students can choose the subjects they want to study according to their academic results, and more channels are provided for them to further their studies. A student assessment system for subject teachers is in place from S1 to S6 to enhance teaching effectiveness. In junior secondary schools, the school-based curriculum is adapted to suit the needs of students to achieve the best learning outcomes. In addition, a system of remedial lessons and examinations is in place to enable students to achieve a certain level of proficiency in the major subjects of Chinese, English and Mathematics.
Teacher professional training and development:
Teacher development days are held regularly every year, which include lectures, workshops, visits and other activities to enhance the standard of teachers. The school also encourages teachers to pursue continuous learning through the provision of information on continuing education to promote their professional development. Whole School Participation Model Integrated Education:
The School has set up a Student Support Unit to support students with special educational needs and arranged teachers to enroll in courses related to integrated education to enhance their professional capacity. The school utilizes the Learning Support Grant to procure career-oriented services, occupational therapy services and clinical psychology services, etc. to provide appropriate support to students. A standard 30-classroom school building. Lecture rooms and small group teaching rooms are provided to meet the needs of lecture and small group teaching. The classrooms are equipped with an intelligent management system to control all environmental factors. The double-storey, floor-to-ceiling glass library on the ground floor has self-study rooms and study rooms for students to cultivate the spirit of independent learning, as well as subject teaching and research rooms.
The new school building provides a wealth of facilities for students' development, such as an 80-meter sprint track, a 400-meter jogging track around the school, a long-distance jumping pool, a throwing range, a fitness room, two standard basketball courts, a 7-a-side soccer court, an indoor badminton court, an indoor volleyball court, and a rock-climbing wall, among others.
