School Wind:

We emphasize the development of moral education in our students and strive to cultivate in them the spirit of perseverance and self-discipline, and to teach them to respect others, to work hard and to care for the campus, so as to build up a harmonious and orderly campus culture. Activities such as the Big Brothers Big Sisters Program and the Leadership Program help students to understand themselves, develop their potential, and establish a positive attitude towards life, so that they can become self-respecting and self-loving young people. In addition, quality circles have been set up in all grades of the school, combining the strengths of the classroom teachers of each grade to provide comprehensive care for the students of that grade. The one-stop school model enables secondary school students to learn how to take care of their elementary school classmates, to care for others and to improve their communication skills through the work of the leader or the peer counselor.

Learning and Teaching Strategies :

  • We tailor our teaching to the needs of students at different stages of their mental development or level, and design a student-centered and progressive learning model to make learning more flexible.
  • We emphasize the cultivation of the spirit of inquisitiveness, logical thinking and arithmetic skills, so that students can absorb both specialized and extensive knowledge.
  • Self-directed learning programs are implemented in upper primary and junior secondary schools to enable students to acquire self-learning skills and develop self-learning habits.
  • In addition to assessment by tests and examinations, schools will also conduct continuous assessment based on students' learning progress.
  • Each lesson is scheduled for 45 minutes, providing students with interactive and diversified learning activities.
  • In line with the education reform and students' abilities and needs, a school-based curriculum was developed for junior secondary schools to enable students to familiarize themselves with the learning mode and assessment mode of the NSS curriculum at an early stage.
  • In order to cultivate students' interest in personal reading, the school has implemented a reading incentive scheme, encouraging students to participate in various online reading programs and regularly recommending quality reading materials to create a reading culture.

Teacher professional training and development:

Encourage teachers' professional development by providing peer lesson observation, counseling for new teachers, and exchange of teaching experience.

Whole School Participation Model Integrated Education:

The School has set up a Student Support Team to provide appropriate support for students with special educational needs (SEN) to integrate into mainstream school life and to help them develop their personal potential. The Student Support Team comprises the Deputy Principal, the SEN Co-ordinator, the SEN Support Teacher, the Chinese Language Teacher, the English Language Teacher, the Resident Counselor, the Resident Social Worker, the Educational Psychologist and the Teaching Assistant. At the teacher level, in order to enhance class teachers' understanding of individual students with SEN and to arrange appropriate support and counseling for them, the support team and class teachers regularly exchange information on the learning situation of the students concerned and discuss support measures. The School also actively encourages teachers to enroll in courses related to integrated education so as to enhance the professional competence of teachers in the field of special education. At the student level, in order to identify the special educational needs of students at an early stage, a Chinese reading and writing test is conducted for new students at the beginning of each school year. In addition, in order to strengthen the support for the special learning needs of individual students, the school has flexibly utilized the Learning Support Grant to employ additional support staff or purchase professional support services for the implementation of various training courses and group activities, such as speech therapy.

For parents, the school emphasizes home-school co-operation. Apart from establishing a regular communication mechanism, the school also organizes parent seminars or individual meetings for students to collect parents' views and jointly support students' learning and growth.

Educational support for non-Chinese speaking students:

The School provides additional support to the admitted NCS students to help them learn Chinese: providing after-school Chinese learning support; employing additional teachers/teaching assistants to support NCS students' Chinese language learning; arranging intensive Chinese teaching modes (e.g., pull-out learning on a need basis, small group learning, etc.); developing school-based Chinese Language curriculum and/or adapting teaching materials; organizing cultural integration activities; and employing additional staff and/or purchasing additional translation/interpretation services to facilitate communication with parents. The Secondary School Places Allocation (SSPA) System consists of two phases: Discretionary Places Allocation (DP) and Central Allocation (CA).
Discretionary places refer to S1 places reserved by schools for self-admission of students. Government, aided and caput secondary schools are allowed to reserve S1 places not exceeding 30%, while DSS secondary schools are allowed to reserve S1 places exceeding 30%.
The application period for the 2024 Discretionary Places is from January 2 to January 16, 2024. All secondary schools participating in the Secondary School Places Allocation (SSPA) System (participating secondary schools) will accept applications during the same period. Parents of current Primary 6 students participating in the Secondary School Places Allocation (SSPA) will receive two copies of the Application Form for Secondary 1 Discretionary Places in early December 2023 through their children's elementary school.
Parents may refer to the "Handbook on Application for Secondary One Discretionary Places", or visitEducation Bureau(https://www.edb.gov.hk/) or call: 2891 0088 for a list of schools through the Education Bureau's automated telephone enquiry system.
Parents can submit applications in paper form or through the Secondary School Places Allocation (SSPA) e-Platform. Once an application is submitted, it cannot be withdrawn, canceled or changed.

Parents are advised to consider two important factors when choosing a school for their children: their children's abilities and the characteristics of the preferred school.

You can communicate with your child's subject teachers to learn more about your child's abilities. For the characteristics of the target school, you may refer to the "Profile of a Secondary School" issued by the Committee on Home-School Co-operation to understand the school's philosophy, language of instruction, religion, class structure, etc. You may also refer to the "School Profile" issued by the Committee on Home-School Co-operation to learn more about the school's philosophy, language, religion and class structure.Visit the school's webpage on this websiteThis is because our information is also collected from theSecondary School OverviewThe school's website and information about the school on the internet, including the schools' Youtube Channels.

We believe that as long as we choose suitable schools according to the abilities of our children, we will make them happy to learn and enjoy going to school, which will be most helpful to their studies.

Parents can only apply for a maximum of two participating secondary schools for their children. Note: Applications for Discretionary Places from more than two secondary schools, whether submitted in paper form or through the Secondary School Places Allocation (SSPA) e-platform, will be considered invalid.
There is no district restriction on the application for discretionary places and parents can choose target secondary schools across districts.
