School-wide language policy:
The effectiveness of student learning is the primary consideration of our language policy. We believe that mother-tongue learning is the most effective way for students to learn, removing the difficulties and barriers to learning in a second language, and thus enhancing students' motivation and interest in learning. At the same time, we emphasize the importance of "biliteracy and trilingualism" for our students. Our English teachers work closely with our three expatriate English teachers to introduce drama, movies, and games into the regular English classroom to enhance students' interest in learning English. The English language environment is strengthened through the teaching of English vocabulary in all subjects, English reading chapters in different subjects, and activities such as English Week. We have daily reading lessons, extensive reading in both English and Chinese, an online reading incentive program, Putonghua recitation, and a campus TV reporter to enhance students' biliteracy and trilingualism.
Tests and study adaptation measures:
In addition to the standardized tests and examinations held once in each semester, we have also included assessments for each subject, such as assessments of coursework, quizzes, project reports, and extensive reading, for the purpose of progressive learning. We assess students of all abilities in our examinations, and in addition to basic questions, challenge questions are also provided to enhance the learning of the top students in the pursuit of excellence.

The "Star Badge Scheme" and the "Rainbow Award Scheme" have been implemented in the school, and the results are remarkable. The school ethos is simple, the students are law-abiding, the school atmosphere is positive, and the teachers and students get along with each other well. The school has won the Caring School Award for 14 consecutive years and the "Most Caring Staff" theme award in 2011. We have always attached great importance to the healthy growth of our students and implemented the "Long Ching 360 Healthy School Program" to enhance students' ability to cope with adversity through adventurous counseling activities. We have been awarded the Honorable Mention, Special Mention and Enhancement Mention Awards of Leisure Link Campus in 2019-2021.
Learning and Teaching Strategies :
We adopt the approach of "small steps, lots of activities, quick feedback and lots of praise" to help students build up self-confidence in learning and enhance their learning motivation. In order to cultivate students' independent learning ability, we help students develop the habit of taking and organizing notes in class. We also actively introduce the teaching strategy of flipped classroom to promote students' pre-study and post-study assessment, so as to cultivate students' self-learning ability.
Teacher professional training and development:
In addition to participating in school-based support, inviting universities and education professionals to conduct teacher professional development activities in schools, we also organize teacher professional development sessions for collaborative lesson planning and exchanges, and open classrooms for teacher observation and learning.
Whole School Participation Model Integrated Education:
We emphasize the diversity of our students. The Deputy Principal leads the SEN Co-ordinator to plan and co-ordinate the work on integrated education, leading various disciplines, support teams, educational psychologists and speech therapists, etc. to formulate support strategies and plans for the holistic care of our students with special educational needs. Educational psychologists and teachers work together to develop Individual Learning Plans (ILPs), and to adapt curriculum teaching and assessment. We have also recruited a number of additional counselors to assist students in their growth and social development, and have established a home-school communication mechanism to enable parents to understand their children's learning situation at school and to cooperate with each other in providing support.
Educational support for non-Chinese speaking students:
The School provides additional support to admitted NCS students to help them learn Chinese: providing after-school Chinese learning support; employing additional teachers/teaching assistants to support NCS students' Chinese language learning; arranging intensive Chinese teaching modes (e.g. pull-out learning on a need basis, group learning, etc.); developing school-based Chinese Language curriculum and/or adapting teaching materials; and organizing cultural integration activities.
