The school is run in a Christian spirit. The school is a simple school with a strong emphasis on whole-person education, especially character development. In addition, students are actively encouraged to participate in extra-curricular activities and community services. In order to implement IE through a whole-school approach, the school has made good use of the EDB subsidy to purchase professional services and employ dedicated staff to assist the Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator in co-ordinating different measures to enable teachers to take care of students with SEN in a more effective manner, which include teaching and assessment adjustment, remedial team, social and attention training team, Individualized Learning Plan (ILP), etc. Besides, the school also has regular channels to communicate with parents and to discuss the most appropriate care measures with them. The school has received additional funding from the Education Bureau (EDB) to provide support to NCS students in accordance with the school-based approach. The support is coordinated by the Task Force. The School provides additional support to the admitted NCS students to help them learn Chinese: providing after-school Chinese learning support; employing additional teachers/teaching assistants to support NCS students' Chinese language learning; arranging intensive Chinese teaching modes (e.g., pull-out learning on a need basis, small group learning, etc.); developing school-based Chinese Language curriculum and/or adapting teaching materials; organizing cultural integration activities; and employing additional staff and/or purchasing additional translation/interpretation services to facilitate communication with parents. The Secondary School Places Allocation (SSPA) System consists of two phases: Discretionary Places Allocation (DP) and Central Allocation (CA).
Discretionary places refer to S1 places reserved by schools for self-admission of students. Government, aided and caput secondary schools are allowed to reserve S1 places not exceeding 30%, while DSS secondary schools are allowed to reserve S1 places exceeding 30%.
The application period for the 2024 Discretionary Places is from January 2 to January 16, 2024. All secondary schools participating in the Secondary School Places Allocation (SSPA) System (participating secondary schools) will accept applications during the same period. Parents of current Primary 6 students participating in the Secondary School Places Allocation (SSPA) will receive two copies of the Application Form for Secondary 1 Discretionary Places in early December 2023 through their children's elementary school.
