Learning and Teaching Strategies :

The school has specially designed the "Global Perspectives" program, which is a new curriculum that combines the best of both worlds by interpreting the local curriculum within the framework of the international curriculum. The school is already a one-stop IB accredited school offering IBPYP, IPMYP and IBDP programs.

Teachers regularly participate in international conferences, such as IB training workshops, as well as EDB workshops and other training activities to build team spirit.

Whole School Participation Model Integrated Education:

The school adopts a three-tier support model whereby the Learning Support Team works in collaboration with teachers, social workers, guidance and discipline staff, school-based educational psychologists and other professionals to cater for the different needs of students, including support for learning difficulties, social-emotional and behavioral problems, and so on. In terms of Tier 1 support, teaching staff will receive regular training to optimize teaching strategies and to establish an early identification and counselling mechanism. The school also organizes seminars and talks for parents to strengthen home-school co-operation. For Tier 2 support, the school provides extra-curricular group training for students in need of support. For Tier 3 support, the school designs Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students with individualized learning targets. The school also arranges test accommodations for students in need and provides technological support such as computerized screen-reading software and speech-to-text conversion software.

Educational support for non-Chinese speaking students:

The school provides additional support to the admitted NCS students to help them learn Chinese: providing after-school Chinese learning support; employing additional teachers/teaching assistants to support NCS students' learning of Chinese; arranging intensive Chinese teaching modes (e.g. pull-out learning, group learning, etc. on a need basis); organizing cultural integration activities; and providing additional support (e.g. pull-out/group learning, pinyin teaching materials, etc.) as needed in the implementation of Putonghua teaching across the board for some of the grades in the school (i.e., for all classes/groups). The school also provides additional support (e.g. pull-out/group learning, phonics teaching materials, etc.) as necessary for the full implementation of universal education in some grades (i.e. all classes/groups).
