The school adopts a school-based curriculum to cater for the different learning needs of students; actively encourages students to engage in cross-curricular thematic studies to cultivate the spirit of active learning; employs expatriate English teachers to help students improve their English proficiency; and regularly reviews the school curriculum to cope with the development of the society and to enhance students' interest in and ability to learn, so as to achieve improvement in their academic performance. The School provides additional support to the admitted NCS students to help them learn Chinese: providing after-school Chinese learning support; employing additional teachers/teaching assistants to support NCS students' Chinese language learning; arranging intensive Chinese teaching modes (e.g., pull-out learning on a need basis, small group learning, etc.); developing school-based Chinese Language curriculum and/or adapting teaching materials; organizing cultural integration activities; and employing additional staff and/or purchasing additional translation/interpretation services to facilitate communication with parents. To facilitate communication with parents, the school will also be required to provide additional staff and/or purchase additional translation/interpretation services.
School facilities:
All classrooms and special rooms are equipped with multimedia projectors, computers and projection screens, and tablet computers are also available for loan to students. In addition, the school has a well-equipped Multimedia Learning Center, computer-assisted learning room and IT teaching room to support teachers in using IT in teaching. In order to enhance the communication between teachers and students, the school has installed an intranet system and a wireless network system, so that students can learn and communicate with teachers through the Internet, whether at home or at school.
