The school has a simple school ethos with discipline, moral and civic education and learning support. The school provides all-round counseling to create a caring campus culture and emphasizes teacher-student relationship. The "Sunshine Ambassadors" student volunteer team has been set up to encourage students to participate in campus and community services. The "Caring for Hong Kong, Serving the Community" programme encourages students to learn gratitude and to promote the "caring spirit".
Learning and Teaching Strategies :
With the installation of electronic devices, the use of diversified teaching software, and quality curriculum design, e-learning resources are integrated into teaching to promote teacher-student interactions in the classroom and to enhance students' IT and self-learning skills. Diversified learning activities, such as the Mid-Autumn Interdisciplinary Activity, All Hallow's Gala, International Day, etc., to enrich students' learning experience. External professional support is introduced to enhance the effectiveness of learning and teaching through the use of different strategies.
Life-wide Learning:
In addition to general sports and music activities, the school has more than 20 school teams, and more than 20 interest classes and different uniformed teams. The school specializes in organizing theme-based learning activities and large-scale events on different festivals, so that students can learn while having fun. The school also provides students with various field trips and service opportunities to help them understand the society.
Course Tailoring and Adaptation Measures:
To cater for learner diversity through the development of graded assignments according to students' abilities and the use of pull-out remedial teaching.
Educational support for non-Chinese speaking students:
The School provides additional support to its admitted NCS students to help them learn Chinese: providing after-school Chinese learning support; employing additional teachers/teaching assistants to support NCS students' Chinese language learning; arranging intensive Chinese teaching modes (e.g. pull-outs on a need basis, group/small group learning, etc.); organizing inclusive campus activities; and employing additional staff and/or procuring additional translation/interpretation services to facilitate communication with parents.
Home school cooperation:
To establish a PTA to establish communication between parents and the school, to cultivate learning parents, and to encourage parents to participate actively in seminars, volunteers, and parent-child activities. Encourage parents to participate in school activities throughout the year, such as large-scale activities and assisting in campus decoration, so as to become role models for their children.
