School Wind:
Teachers, students and parents work together to build a harmonious and caring campus; through growth classes, holistic counseling, sky of growth, non-Chinese speaking after-school groups, home-school co-operation, and planned activity classes, students are assisted to grow.
Learning and Teaching Strategies :
1. To establish a healthy "positive education" and a spiritual life-rich campus learning life, to design life education and character education classes, to cultivate students' positive values and learn Christ's example from an early age, to cultivate students' love for life, and to cooperate with the service learning program to cultivate students' willingness to help others' service attitudes and positive and confident character.
2. To make optimal use of the school environment to implement environmental and health education, so as to cultivate students' care for the environment, optimal use of resources, awareness of green living, and balanced physical and mental development. To create a good biliterate and trilingual learning environment, and to strengthen students' opportunities and abilities in the use of biliteracy and trilingualism.
3. to establish a campus atmosphere of love for reading, and to cultivate a campus culture in which students "learn from reading" and "learn to read".
4. To implement a cross-curricular curriculum to promote STEM education, with General Studies as the main axle, combined with Applied Mathematics and Statistics and e-Learning to provide students with STEM learning lessons.
Life-wide Learning:
Extra-curricular activities are divided into long-term and short-term groups, such as handbells, handchimes, wind music, drama, fencing, ink painting and ball games, etc., in order to develop students' potential in sports and arts and show their talents to the fullest, so as to achieve the goal of one person one art. After-school classes are led by professional instructors in Cambridge English, Summers, Taekwondo, Wushu, Brass Band, Violin, Piano, Dance, Drama and other interest classes.
Course Tailoring and Adaptation Measures:
Full-class gifted programs, homework tutorials, Chinese, English and Mathematics tutorials, and after-school pull-out gifted programs are offered to cater for students' learning diversity.
Educational support for non-Chinese speaking students:
The school provides additional support to the admitted NCS students to help them learn Chinese: providing after-school Chinese learning support; arranging intensive Chinese teaching modes (e.g. pull-out learning on a need basis, group/cluster learning, etc.); developing school-based Chinese Language curriculum and/or adapting teaching materials; organizing inclusive school activities; and employing additional staff and/or procuring additional translation/interpretation services to facilitate communication with parents.
Home school cooperation:
Parents are very supportive of school activities and volunteer their time. The school is committed to promoting parent education and supporting parents in nurturing their children with care and love, so that they can thrive in the midst of encouragement and praise.
