Management Structure: Directly under the Catholic Diocese of Hong Kong, the school is managed by the Incorporated Management Committee (IMC) under the leadership of the Superintendent, who has delegated authority to the Principal to lead the School Development Team, Functional Teams and Academic Teams to formulate school policies and development plans, to carry out various school duties and to implement whole-person education in the Catholic school. Classroom teaching model:
Small class teaching is implemented in Primary 1 to Primary 6, and Putonghua is used to teach Chinese language in Primary 1 to Primary 6. Course Tailoring and Adaptation Measures:
Grades 4-6 are divided into classes according to ability. Grades 1-6 have Multiple Intelligences (MI) classes in the afternoons, where students are divided into groups according to their abilities, and diverse and varying levels of worksheets are designed to cater for the diversity of student learning.
Educational support for non-Chinese speaking students:
The school provides additional support to its admitted NCS students to help them learn Chinese: providing after-school Chinese learning support; employing additional teachers/teaching assistants to support NCS students' Chinese language learning; arranging intensive Chinese teaching modes (e.g. pull-out learning on a need basis, group/group learning, etc.); organizing inclusive school activities; employing additional staff and/or procuring additional translation/interpretation services to facilitate communication with parents; and the school provide additional support (e.g. pull-out/group learning, phonics teaching materials, etc.) as necessary in the implementation of universal education across the board (i.e. in all classes/groups) at all levels of the school.
