The school pays attention to the character development of students and realizes their potential. Through planned value education, seminars, activities and competitions, a caring and appreciative culture is built up for students to enhance their self-management skills, to develop a positive outlook on life, to learn to respect their teachers and teachers, to get along with their classmates, to encourage each other, and to learn to be thankful.
Learning and Teaching Strategies :
Diversified learning activities are used to stimulate students' learning motivation, and to develop students' ability to learn actively and think from multiple perspectives. In Chinese Language, students' speaking and writing skills are enhanced through the integration of reading and writing. In English, students' ability to use English is enhanced through the acquisition of commonly used words, familiarization with phonetic rules, and the habit of reading quality texts. Mathematics uses a Mathematising perspective to organize the teaching design, in which students participate in the process of mathematical "re-invention" and express their opinions in mathematical language. General Studies focuses on STEM elements and uses inquiry-based learning to encourage students to take the initiative in exploring and guiding them to make evidences. In addition, through the discussion of current affairs, students are able to enhance their awareness of current affairs and their ability to think critically and discerningly. All subjects utilize whiteboards and tablet computers to support teaching and learning, and are extended by online learning platforms.
Life-wide Learning:
The school implements the "One Life, One Art" policy, which encourages students to participate in sports or arts activities to realize the spirit of morality, intellectuality, physicality, social skills and aesthetics, and to achieve whole-person development. The co-curricular activities of the school cover five major areas, namely, academics, arts, sports, interests and services.
Course Tailoring and Adaptation Measures:
To cater for the different learning abilities of students, teachers are prepared to design school-based teaching strategies, contents and assignments that are aligned with the key learning points and provide appropriate feedback to cater for the diversity of student learning.
Educational support for non-Chinese speaking students:
The School provides additional support to its admitted NCS students to help them learn Chinese: providing after-school Chinese language learning support; employing additional teachers/teaching assistants to support NCS students' Chinese language learning; arranging intensive Chinese language teaching modes (e.g. pull-out learning on a need basis, group/small group learning, etc.); developing a school-based Chinese Language curriculum and/or adapting teaching materials; organizing inclusive school activities; and employing additional staff and/or purchasing additional translation/interpretation services to facilitate communication with parents. We have a close parent-school relationship and a large parent volunteer team to assist in the daily operation and activities of the school. Environmental Policy:
