School Wind:

The school takes the development of potential education as its direction, and is student-oriented to enhance students' self-governance, self-learning and self-reflection. It also promotes various healthy and caring school policies, service learning programs and moral education activities to cultivate students' empathy, to care more about others and to serve others, so that the school campus is filled with a warm and caring atmosphere.

Learning and Teaching Strategies :

There are six areas: school-based STEAM programs, out-of-country exchanges, arts education (ceramics, drama, music), gifted education, service learning and environmental education. Diversified teaching strategies, curriculum adaptation and blended learning are adopted. Through project-based learning, outdoor learning, educational camps, e-learning and thematic learning, as well as cross-curricular reading, independent and cooperative learning, the school provides students with life experiences and learning by doing, and encourages high levels of presentation, participation and multiple performances in order to realize students' potential. Students are guided to identify problems and find answers to them spontaneously in the classroom by mastering different learning strategies, such as reading methods, searching and organizing information, organizing concepts using images and diagrams, and using their imagination and creativity through games, role-playing and drama education.

Life-wide Learning:

The school offers the following multi-disciplinary programs: Clay Hand Painting, Rope Skipping, Fencing, Hawaiian Guitar, Clay Pulling, African Drumming, Dodgeball, Athletic Training, Non-Crash Rugby, Drama, Math Club, Cycling, Chinese Dance, Acappela, and BeatBox.

Course Tailoring and Adaptation Measures:

We set learning targets for each subject and each level, enrich and adapt them according to students' performance, tailor the teaching contents, design teaching materials, deepen or fine-tune teaching measures, and formulate diversified learning strategies. In order to enhance students' learning ability and identify students with potential, we have infused higher-order thinking skills training into the whole-class curriculum, and provided school-based support programs for the more capable and gifted students, as well as remedial classes and pull-out counseling for the low achievers.

Educational support for non-Chinese speaking students:

The school provides additional support to the admitted NCS students to help them learn Chinese: providing after-school Chinese learning support; employing additional teachers/teaching assistants to support NCS students' Chinese learning; arranging intensive Chinese teaching modes (e.g. pull-out learning, group/cluster learning, etc. on a need basis); organizing inclusive school activities; and providing additional support (e.g. pull-out learning, pinyin teaching materials, etc.) to NCS students as and when necessary in the context of the implementation of Putonghua teaching across the board for some of the grades in the school (i.e., for all classes/groups). Additional support (e.g. pull-out/group learning, phonics teaching materials, etc.) will be provided.

Home school cooperation:

Through regular meetings of the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) and the Incorporated Management Committee (IMC), school administration is made transparent. To promote close home-school liaison, the PTA organizes regular parent seminars, recreational activities, joint parent events and publishes the PTA newsletter. An annual PTA trip is organized.
