School Wind:
Nurturing programs are implemented around three themes: "Be a Good Neighbor", "Be a Good Student" and "Be a Servant-Leader". The school also strives to protect students from bullying and sexual harassment, to build a positive and harmonious classroom and school ethos, and to employ additional social workers to support students in need. The school was awarded the "Most Harmonious Campus" by the City University of Hong Kong.
Learning and Teaching Strategies :
The school is committed to the pursuit of professionalism: requiring subject teams to set key learning objectives; adopting teaching materials that meet the learning objectives and psychology; practicing student-centered classroom teaching; fostering students' self-learning; developing diversified assessments to assess and provide feedback to students; and utilizing the methods of progressive teaching, assignments at different levels of learning, peer support, and the creation of individual learning portfolios to cater for learning differences.
Life-wide Learning:
Various school teams, clubs, school-based uniformed teams, service teams and extra-curricular activities are offered to students to broaden their horizons. ACTS (Academic, Character, Talent and Spiritual Development) time is set aside in the afternoon to allow part of the life-wide learning to take place within the timetable.
Course Tailoring and Adaptation Measures:
To define subject core and extended curricula and conduct "Progressive Assessment" in daily teaching so as to have an early understanding of students' learning performance and to give them different levels of assignments according to their abilities.
Educational support for non-Chinese speaking students:
The School provides additional support to the admitted NCS students to help them learn Chinese: providing after-school Chinese language learning support; employing additional teachers/teaching assistants to support NCS students' Chinese language learning; arranging intensive Chinese language teaching modes (e.g. pull-out learning on a need basis, small group/group learning, etc.); developing school-based Chinese Language curriculum and/or adapting teaching materials; and organizing inclusive campus activities.
