Is the Buddhist School of Compassion good?

School Wind:

Cultivate positive thinking, promote whole-person development, and promote Buddhist moral education, spiritual, life and value education; enhance students' physical and mental health, set positive life goals and develop their potential. Students will be willing to perform good deeds and services, realize a green lifestyle, and become "compassionate and wise" people.

Learning and Teaching Strategies :

We focus on student learning and make good use of diversified learning and teaching strategies to cater for student diversity. These include different classroom organization, such as grouping; diversified learning materials, such as audio-visual information and e-learning; effective questioning and diversified assignments; and different modes of assessment to promote student learning. It also emphasizes "learning by doing", for example, through experimental activities to cultivate students' curiosity and interest.

Life-wide Learning:

Tuesday and Thursday afternoons are devoted to Multiple Intelligences (MI) classes, which include cross-curricular learning activities and physical and artistic activities, such as Chinese and English Drama, Emerging Sports, Planting, STEAM, Singing, and Handicrafts, etc. After school, we organize team training and growth groups. After-school team training and growth groups are organized. On Fridays, there is a "Multi-Sports and Arts Activity Day" where students participate in sports and arts booths according to their interests. For uniformed groups, there are Cub Scouts, Cub Scouts and Flag-raising Teams in the school.

Course Tailoring and Adaptation Measures:

A life-wide learning program that fosters self-learning and generic skills and develops multiple intelligences. To design and optimize the tiered curriculum to cater for the diversity of students. Provide homework and assessment and adaptation for students with special educational needs (SEN).

Educational support for non-Chinese speaking students:

Home school cooperation:

Promote parent education in line with the direction of school development and new trends in education, and organize regular parent academies, tea gatherings, volunteer training and workshops on positive thinking. Support PTAs in organizing activities to promote reading and picture book life education. Enhance home-school communication channels: Parents' Day, PTA Annual General Meeting, class observation. Disseminate school news and student learning through the Home-School Communication Program, Sunshine Hotline, Intranet, school circulars, and face-to-face letters.

Environmental Policy:

Continuing the "Healthy‧Entertainment‧Green" school-based program to build a green campus and implement the concern of "practicing environmental protection in mind, body and spirit". Through diversified activities and dietary policies, the school has set up an "environmental culture" to encourage students to cultivate healthy and green living habits and to treasure the earth's resources.
