Program Planning
The curriculum is designed to meet the developmental needs and interests of children. The program focuses on seven areas: moral, intellectual, physical, social, aesthetic, personal, psychological and basic knowledge. The program is designed to enhance children's cognitive, emotional and learning motivation. Adopting children's mother tongue as the medium of instruction and using a whole-language approach to teaching and learning. Teaching content is organized in thematic nets, and children learn through play by using thematic learning methods. Classrooms are set up to attract children's attention and motivate them to learn by using topic-related classroom settings.
Emphasis is placed on the development of a school-based curriculum and the promotion of student-centered inquiry and free play activities, so that children can obtain enjoyable and effective learning outcomes through opportunities for reflection, experimentation and discussion. Putonghua learning and dance activities are organized in small groups in the morning of each week. Every Friday is a multi-activity day, providing physical activities and fun English activities with a foreign English teacher. In order to strengthen children's moral education, civic and character education is infused through thematic teaching, thematic studies and regular activities, so that children can practice good moral behavior in a subtle environment. According to the needs of the curriculum, we will arrange visits and participate in joint school activities. To co-organize the Primary School Life Experience Programme in the elementary school campus.
Assessments are based on children's physical and mental developmental history, including: cognitive development, physical development, affective and social development, aesthetic and cultural development. We use the children's learning history records to analyze the children's learning ability through the children's works, anecdotal records and work performance, and review and revise the teaching plan. We organize half-yearly Parents' Day to meet with parents individually to understand their children's ability level.
