Learning and Teaching Strategies :
1. To develop Chinese and English school-based book teaching curricula, using appropriate books and other reading materials as teaching materials for Chinese and English subjects at all levels, replacing the use of textbooks in a comprehensive manner, so as to enhance students' interest in reading as well as the breadth and depth of their reading.
2. To utilize "Classroom Dialogue for Learning" in teaching and learning, and to implement effective classroom teaching arrangements in the seven areas of "Dialogue Opportunities", "Dialogue Content", "Dialogue Strategies", "Dialogue Culture", "Dialogue as Scaffolding", "Dialogue for Learning Motivation and Confidence", and "Dialogue for Assessment", so as to enable students to learn effectively through "speaking" and to promote the development of their thinking.
Life-wide Learning:
In order to provide students with a diversified and all-round learning experience, the school not only organizes different kinds of out-of-classroom learning activities every year and arranges all-round activities and moral education for students in the afternoon session every day, but also provides a number of after-school activities for students to choose from, such as golf, fencing, swimming, Japanese language, music instruments and dancing.
Course Tailoring and Adaptation Measures:
The school arranges appropriate learning adaptations for students with different needs. School-based teaching materials and homework assignments of different levels are provided to enhance students' learning motivation. Assessment and adaptation measures are also provided to enable students to receive appropriate assessment.
Educational support for non-Chinese speaking students:
The school provides additional support to the admitted NCS students to help them learn Chinese: providing after-school Chinese language learning support; employing additional teachers/teaching assistants to support NCS students' Chinese language learning; developing school-based Chinese Language curriculum and/or adapting teaching materials; and organizing inclusive campus activities.
Home school cooperation:
The school attaches great importance to building a partnership with parents. Through diversified parent activities, the school strengthens the relationship with parents and enables them to better understand the direction of the school. Parents can not only express their opinions through the questionnaires issued by the school on a regular basis, but also participate in the "Parents' Community Hall", where they can systematically attend various parent volunteer services and parent seminars to increase the communication opportunities between home and school.
