The after-school interest groups include Uniformed Team, Drama Group, Oriental Dance Group, Chinese Art Class, Choir, African Drum Class, Hand Bell Team, Pop Band, Mini Tennis, and English Debate Group.
Course Tailoring and Adaptation Measures:
The school uses English as the main medium of instruction, allowing students of different nationalities to learn in a multicultural environment. In collaboration with the Education Bureau and the University, the school has recruited professionals to optimize its school-based curriculum in Chinese, English, Mathematics and General Studies, and to produce module books to facilitate students' learning. The school also makes flexible use of its subsidy to provide more than 10 free interest classes after school, including: Chinese and English Little Master of Ceremonies Class, Cambridge English Class, English Pinyin Class, and a number of sports and arts training classes, so as to enable students to have a balanced development.
Educational support for non-Chinese speaking students:
The School provides additional support to its admitted NCS students to help them learn Chinese: providing after-school Chinese language learning support; employing additional teachers/teaching assistants to support NCS students' Chinese language learning; arranging intensive Chinese language teaching modes (e.g. pull-out learning on a need basis, group/small group learning, etc.); developing a school-based Chinese Language curriculum and/or adapting teaching materials; organizing inclusive school activities; and employing additional staff and/or purchasing additional translation/interpretation services to facilitate communication with parents. Home school cooperation:
All parents are members of the PTA. Annual general meetings, interest groups, seminars and parent-child trips are organized every year. Parent workshops and seminars are organized in conjunction with the school to share ideas on how to teach their children and to strengthen the bond between parents. The PTA encourages parents to participate in parent volunteer services and school activities.
Environmental Policy:
Each class has an "Environmental Ambassador" who is responsible for spreading the message of environmental protection to the students. Environmental education is incorporated into the weekly training and curriculum to help students treasure resources and protect the earth.
Participating in the "Jockey Club Green Schools Program" to help schools reduce their carbon emissions, in order to instill the concept of green building and educate the young generation on the importance of carbon reduction.
