Learning and Teaching Strategies :
Diversified life-wide learning activities are arranged according to the curriculum to enhance students' interest in learning, bring learning out of the classroom, broaden their horizons, and make learning both flexible and enjoyable.
Life-wide Learning:
Interest groups include school-based specialties such as table tennis, volleyball, basketball, rope skipping, soccer, calligraphy, environmental ambassadors, arts and crafts, shepherd's flute, STEM groups, choir, guitars, painting, Olympiad, Multiple Intelligences, and scouts. Subject activity days, tours, visits, Christmas parties, land games, trips, educational camps, PTA activities and cross-border trips are held every year.
Course Tailoring and Adaptation Measures:
Teachers of various subjects will adjust and tailor the teaching materials according to the needs to enhance students' learning effectiveness.
Educational support for non-Chinese speaking students:
The School provides additional support to its admitted NCS students to help them learn Chinese: providing after-school Chinese learning support; employing additional teachers/teaching assistants to support NCS students' Chinese language learning; arranging intensive Chinese teaching modes (e.g. pull-outs on a need basis, group/small group learning, etc.); organizing inclusive campus activities; and employing additional staff and/or procuring additional translation/interpretation services to facilitate communication with parents.
