Classroom teaching model:
Depending on students' abilities and aspirations, some classes in grades 1-4 have implemented the Putonghua Chinese curriculum, while grades 1 and 2 participate in the EDB's Space Town English Program, and grade 3 participates in the PLP-R/W Program. Learning and Teaching Strategies :
Depending on the ability and willingness of the students, some classes in grades 1-4 have implemented the Putonghua-teaching Chinese curriculum. Cooperative learning strategies and Space Town or PLP-R/W English programs are implemented in Grades 1-3. Flexible allocation of lesson time is provided for activities and project-based learning in various subjects. In addition to regular classes, students participate in life-wide learning and cross-curricular thematic teaching activities to enhance their interest in learning and broaden their learning experiences.
Life-wide Learning:
The school is concerned with students' performance outside of academics and arranges activities that are aligned with the curriculum and incorporate the current year's concerns.
Large-scale activities are organized every year, such as International Culture Day, Interdisciplinary Thematic Learning Day, STEM Technology Exploration Day, etc. Interest groups include pop band, taekwondo, ball games, AI artificial intelligence courses, wushu, violin, and lion dance team.
Course Tailoring and Adaptation Measures:
To provide students with special learning needs with an adaptation policy for their homework, timely review, and assessment and adaptation for tests.
Educational support for non-Chinese speaking students:
The School provides additional support to the admitted NCS students to help them learn Chinese: providing after-school Chinese language learning support; employing additional teachers/teaching assistants to support NCS students' Chinese language learning; arranging intensive Chinese language teaching modes (e.g. pull-out learning on a need basis, small group/group learning, etc.); developing school-based Chinese Language curriculum and/or adapting teaching materials; and organizing inclusive campus activities.
