School-wide language policy:
The school places special emphasis on the teaching of English. Starting from S1 in 2010/11, English has been used as the main medium of instruction in the school (please refer to the information on the proposed subjects for the 2022-2023 and 2023/2024 school years for details). In addition, to enhance students' English proficiency, the school has organized a number of English activities, including the Canadian English Cultural Exchange Camp, the American English Society Summer Program, the UK-Australia Study Tour, English Activity Day, English Drama, English Speech Contest, English Speech Contest, English Spelling Competition and Inter-school Debate Competition, etc. The school has also organized a series of English activities for students to learn English. In order to enhance the effectiveness of students' English learning, the school not only uses English as the medium of instruction for many subjects, but also uses English as the medium of instruction for central broadcasting in the mornings, and offers a number of English classes on Saturday mornings.

The school has a simple school ethos and students are well-disciplined. In order to cultivate the whole-person development of students, the school has put in place a number of supportive measures, including the "Secondary One Care and Development Team", "I Can Do It Scheme", "Benchmark Award Scheme", "Merit Award Scheme" and "Principal's Interview with Good Students Scheme", etc. In addition, the Guidance Team has organized the "BBBS Big Sister Scheme" for Secondary One students. The school encourages teachers' continuous professional development. The School provides additional support to the admitted NCS students to help them learn Chinese: arranging intensive Chinese teaching modes (e.g. pull-out learning, small group learning, etc.); developing school-based Chinese Language curriculum and/or adapting teaching materials; and organizing cultural integration activities.
