Emphasis on biliteracy and trilingualism: Additional resources are devoted to enhancing the English proficiency of students at different levels. Both junior and senior secondary schools have adopted the "ability grouping" approach to teaching, introducing the concept of gifted education and setting up English language classes to further enhance the English language proficiency of students with better English language foundation. In some classes (S1 and S2), Science and Life and Social Studies, and Science (S3 Biology and Chemistry) are taught in English. In addition, English and Chinese are taught in small classes at all levels to maximize student learning diversity. The school has an English Learning Center and an e-learning platform with learning activities arranged by expatriate English teachers to enhance students' interest in learning English. The school's Chinese Language subject is taught in Cantonese, and a Putonghua subject is offered at the junior secondary level to enhance students' ability to speak and understand Putonghua.
Tests and study adaptation measures:
Continuous assessment is adopted to emphasize students' academic performance in all aspects. Application for S1 admission:
The school accepts applications for S1 Discretionary Places and participates in the Central Allocation of Secondary School Places (CASPA). Admission criteria for S1 Discretionary Places: Grade B or above in conduct throughout the whole year of P.5 and the first semester of P.6. EDB's "Student Achievement Ranking List" 30%; Conduct 10%; Extra-curricular Activities and Service 20%; Interview (conducted in Cantonese and English, including Chinese and English, Mathematics, Responsiveness and Attitude) 40%. Additional marks for school connection (e.g. having a sibling studying in school or a child of a graduate) are not more than 5%.

We emphasize the simplicity of our school ethos and cater for the individual needs of our students through the dual class teacher system and remedial activities such as the Self-Practice Scheme, the Whole Person Development Award Scheme and the Sibling Scheme. In the area of moral and civic education, we have introduced training activities such as the Volunteer Service Scheme, Civic Ambassadors, Environmental Ambassadors, and Health Ambassadors, so that students can understand the needs of others through service to the community, and thus build up a correct outlook on life.
Learning and Teaching Strategies :
We are actively developing 'Independent Learning'. Our vision is to create an enjoyable teaching and learning environment and to emphasize the effectiveness of teaching and learning. On the learning side, we will cultivate good learning attitudes and establish learning habits among students; on the teacher side, we will encourage teachers to set up learning circles to share their experiences in classroom management and teaching. Middle School: Provides a broad basic curriculum. Senior Secondary: We offer a combination of arts, science and business courses to cater for students of different aptitudes and to facilitate their transition to university. In addition to the Chinese and English Extensive Reading Programs, weekly reading classes are offered to cultivate students' good reading habits. The school has installed a school-wide wireless network, set up an e-learning platform and purchased tablet computers to actively promote e-learning.
Teacher professional training and development:
The school actively promotes teachers' participation in continuing professional development and training to build up professional learning communities. Apart from organizing teacher training days, the school also participates in the University's Institutional Collaboration Scheme, brings in professional support from the Education Bureau, and forms learning circles, visits, tours and professional exchanges with its alumni schools.
Teachers are also encouraged to participate in the "Seed Project" organized by the Curriculum Development Institute (CDI) and to conduct peer lesson observations in their daily classes. In addition, teachers of the school also participated in the middle-level leadership training organized by the school sponsoring body, overseas educational visits and the i-Journey overseas study tour organized by the Education Bureau.
Whole School Participation Model Integrated Education:
- The school has set up a Student Support Team, which is coordinated by the Deputy Principal (Academic) and comprises the SEN Co-ordinator, the SEN Support Teacher, the Guidance Officer, the Discipline Officer, the Head of Major Subjects, the Educational Psychologist and the Resident Social Worker. The team is responsible for coordinating, harmonizing, reviewing and implementing various support measures, improving support packages and promoting an inclusive culture in the school.
- Teaching assistants are also provided to help take care of students with special needs and to strengthen the support for students in their daily lives. With the Learning Support Grant from the Education Bureau and subsidies from school sponsoring bodies, the school provides students with special learning needs with various professional services in school, including educational psychologist service and speech therapy service. Through early intervention by professionals, students can be provided with appropriate follow-up or referral services.
- The school organizes different kinds of activities to broaden students' learning and life experience, improve their social behavior, communication skills and emotion management, and enhance their personal self-confidence.
- The school arranges after-school subject counseling for students with special learning needs and low academic achievement, with a view to enhancing the learning performance of individual students. Test accommodations are also arranged for individual students with special learning needs.

The school provides additional support to the admitted NCS students to help them learn Chinese: individual counseling and support will be given if needed.
