1. The medium of instruction is both Chinese and English, with emphasis on biliteracy and trilingualism: except for English, Mathematics and Science are taught in English at the junior high school level, and the rest of the subjects are taught in the mother tongue, with Putonghua as the medium of instruction at the junior high school level. The rest of the subjects are taught in the mother tongue, and there is a Putonghua subject in the junior high school. In the senior high school, Mathematics and some elective subjects are taught in Chinese or English according to the group.
2. Teaching in English, tailored to the needs of the students: The school uses English diagnostic tests to identify the English learning needs of junior high school students, so as to group the students into different classes. The school has set up an after-school English enrichment class for newly arrived junior high school students or junior high school students who are not as proficient in English.
3. Enriching the English language environment: English corners are set up in classrooms, diversified English activities are arranged at lunchtime, hosted by foreign English teachers and student English ambassadors to enhance students' interest in learning English, and summer overseas exchange activities are organized every year.

Tests and study adaptation measures:
Three examinations are organized throughout the school year and regular tests are arranged for each subject according to the progress of teaching. Students are assessed on their multiple abilities through summative and progressive assessments. Classes at all levels are organized according to ability, and the curriculum and assignments are designed to meet the learning needs of students. The English Department conducts regular diagnostic tests to assess the English proficiency of junior secondary school students, who are then divided into small classes according to their English proficiency, so as to cater for their learning differences more effectively and to enhance their English proficiency. After-school English enrichment classes are also available at junior secondary levels. For NCS students, the project-based learning mode of Chinese History at junior secondary level replaces the written examination.

The Student Support Team comprises educational psychologists, social workers, Integrated Education Co-ordinators, remedial teachers and Integrated Teaching Assistants, and arranges for teachers to enroll in relevant courses to enhance their professional capacity. The Learning Support Grant and other resources of the school are flexibly utilized to provide diversified support for students with special educational needs, including outsourced speech therapy, occupational therapy, art therapy, after-school homework guidance classes, lunchtime chess journey, career planning guidance and inclusive activities. The learning effectiveness of students with SEN is also enhanced through curriculum design, diversified teaching strategies, optimized tiered assignments, homework and test accommodations to cater for learner diversity. The School provides additional support to admitted NCS students to help them learn Chinese: providing after-school Chinese learning support; employing additional teachers/teaching assistants to support NCS students' Chinese language learning; arranging intensive Chinese teaching modes (e.g. pull-out learning on a need basis, small group learning, etc.); developing school-based Chinese Language curriculum and/or adapting teaching materials; and organizing cultural integration activities.
