The school has a simple school ethos, with motivated teachers and students who are willing to be open-minded, broaden their horizons, and be of service to others. The Christian Family Service Centre provides school social work services, the Sheng Kung Hui provides educational psychologists for psychological counseling, and a number of senior teachers form a counseling team to implement a number of counseling programs, such as the "Big Sisters Program" and the "Dual Class Teacher System".
Learning and Teaching Strategies :
Teachers promote interactive teaching through different e-learning platforms and applications to enhance students' learning interest and effectiveness. At the same time, a wide range of e-learning materials are available for students to select and practice outside the classroom according to their individual abilities. The school's curriculum is adapted according to the requirements of society and the interests of students in order to keep abreast of the times. The junior secondary curriculum is broad enough to allow students to develop different potentials and to identify the direction of their future development, while the senior secondary curriculum is organized into different classes according to students' abilities and interests, so as to cater for the personal development of individual students. The senior secondary curriculum is characterized by a wide range of choices and flexibility, and is designed to meet students' abilities and interests as far as possible. In order to integrate the eight Key Learning Areas (KLAs), diversified activities are organized at different grades and months through cross-curricular collaboration, with a view to developing students' knowledge, generic skills and ability to synthesize information.
Teacher professional training and development:
Teachers are encouraged to participate in seminars, workshops or talks to keep them abreast of the latest education trends and policies of the Education Department, and to conduct peer lesson observations and classroom learning to enhance the quality of learning and teaching.
Whole School Participation Model Integrated Education:
The SEN Co-ordinator and the Student Support Team are responsible for the co-ordination of the relevant work, including maintaining close communication and co-ordination with the Guidance Team, class teachers, subject teachers, social workers, educational psychologists and speech therapists in order to facilitate students' learning and development in the light of students' circumstances and learning needs. In addition, our school will make use of the Learning Support Grant (LSA) in the school year to coordinate appropriate support work according to the learning needs of students, such as executive skills groups, socialization groups, homework guidance and study skills classes. Through training, counseling, learning adjustment and home-school cooperation, students will have more confidence in meeting the challenges of learning and growing up.
Educational support for non-Chinese speaking students:
The School provides additional support to its admitted NCS students to help them learn Chinese: providing after-school Chinese learning support; employing additional teachers/teaching assistants to support NCS students' Chinese language learning; organizing cultural integration activities; and employing additional staff and/or procuring additional translation/interpretation services to facilitate communication with parents.
