School-wide language policy:
Mother Tongue Teaching (MTT) is practiced from S1 to S6. In order to enhance the English proficiency of the school's students and to achieve the goal of "mother-tongue teaching, proficiency in both Chinese and English", a certain percentage of lessons or topics in Mathematics, Integrated Science, Life and Society, Geography, Science and Technology, Basic Business and Music at the junior secondary level are taught in English, while Mathematics is taught in English in the Junior Secondary Elite Class. In addition, extended learning activities include teaching some topics and vocabulary in English and revisiting content learned in the mother tongue, so that students have more opportunities to learn in English and gain confidence in the use of English. To ensure the effectiveness of students' learning, all English-medium subjects will have an English test to assess the effectiveness of students' English learning.

The school has a simple school ethos that emphasizes respect for teachers and love for students, and school-based counseling is carried out with love and care. In addition to the school social work service provided by the Salvation Army Community Service Center, an educational psychologist and a speech therapist are stationed at the school by the Sheng Kung Hui to provide psychological counseling and education. In addition, there are various incentive programs to reward and commend students with outstanding conduct and activities. The school adopts a double class teacher system from S1 to S6, and arranges lunch detention for S1 students to enhance their care.
Learning and Teaching Strategies :
We emphasize the balanced development of the Sixth Form, and train students' analytical, self-learning and integration skills through cross-curricular and diversified learning activities, integrated reading program, morning reading program and project learning. All classrooms are equipped with computers, physical projectors and overhead projectors, and some classrooms are equipped with interactive whiteboards. There is also a state-of-the-art Information Technology Learning Center, a Multimedia Language Learning Room, an English Learning Center and a Self-study Center. The structure of the curriculum emphasizes balanced development, and new courses are constantly being introduced to meet the needs of students' abilities and social development. A wide range of subjects are offered to junior secondary school students, such as Life and Society, Creative and Media Studies, Computer Education, Basic Business Studies, and Technology and Life Studies. In addition, we have implemented non-conventional curriculum, co-organized book clubs, growth programmes, cultural activities and STEM activities with external organizations. Arrangement of school-wide morning reading sessions in English and Chinese; implementation of the English Self-learning Scheme; establishment of Reading Ambassadors to recommend books; Chinese-English and Library Reading Award Scheme; organization of Principal's Book Clubs, author's talks, book fairs, book borrowing competitions; participation in off-campus reading competitions.
Teacher professional training and development:
Teachers are required to attend a certain number of lectures or workshops each year, and C.E.M. and C.S.D. teachers prepare lessons on a regular basis. Teachers of Chinese/English Mathematics and Civic and Social Development regularly prepare lessons in groups. All teachers exchange lesson observations with each other to enhance teaching effectiveness.
Whole School Participation Model Integrated Education:
- In addition to the school-based speech therapist, the school also employs resource teachers, student support officers and part-time tutors to develop individual learning plans and test accommodations for students in need, and to conduct assessments and training for students in need.
- In collaboration with various outside organizations, growth groups have been set up for students to enhance their understanding of themselves and their career paths in higher education.
