In addition to mother-tongue education, the school also emphasizes biliteracy and trilingualism. In accordance with the students' abilities, the school gradually strengthens the use of English in junior secondary school subjects, and implements English extension activities to facilitate students' learning in English in senior secondary school.
In order to cultivate students' interest in learning English and to build up an English learning environment in the school, English Language is taught in small classes. Through the implementation of the "Annual Moral Education Theme", "Core Values", "Positive Education" and "Seven Habits", we help students to construct positive values and put what they have learned into practice in their daily lives, so that they can become happy and successful young people.
Learning and Teaching Strategies :
Through school education, we hope to equip students with good reading skills, moral development and the ability to utilize information. The school has set up a Student Support Team comprising a Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENCo), a Special Educational Needs Support Teacher (SENST), a Discipline Officer (DO), a School Social Worker (SSW), an Educational Psychologist (EP) and a full-time Teaching Assistant (TA). The Secondary Learning Support Grant (SLSG) has also been utilized for the integration and flexible deployment of resources within the school to provide suitable support services for students. Support measures for students with special educational needs include after-school remedial teaching in Chinese, English and Mathematics, individualized speech therapy for students with speech and language impairment, individualized occupational therapy for students with weak hand muscle development, extended examination hours for students in need, purchase and loan of FM radio system for students with severe hearing impairment, individual counseling and group counseling services for students with autism, hyperactivity disorder and mental health needs, etc. The School also uses the Secondary Learning Support Grant to consolidate and flexibly deploy resources within the school to provide suitable support services for students. The school handles students' emotional, learning and behavioral problems through casework to enable them to achieve the expected learning targets for assessment and individual learning plans.
